3.4.2 The figures listed are calculated on the assumption that the effective adjacent channel rejection of the airborne
receiver is better than 60 dB down at the next assignable channel.
3.4.3 The calculations are based on the assumption that the protection against interference afforded to the wanted
signal from the unwanted signal is 20 dB, corresponding to a bearing error of less than 1 degree due to the unwanted signal.
3.4.4 It is recognized that, in the case of adjacent channel operation, there is a small region in the vicinity of a VOR
facility, in which interference may be caused to an aircraft using another VOR facility. However, the width of this region is
so small that the duration of the interference would be negligible and, in any case, it is probable that the aircraft would
change its usage from one facility to the other.
