lever, HP RPM should steadily increase toward idle. Monitor TGT.
NOTE: The engine should normally light up within ten (10) seconds and
reach idling RPM in approximately forty-five (45) seconds. When the
engine runs satisfactorily, select Airstart Ignition OFF (IGN Message
OUT). Advance power lever slowly to desired RPM.
If the engine fails to relight after airstart ignition has been
energized for thirty (30) seconds, or if it appears unlikely that the
engine will accelerate to idle, proceed as follows:
1. HP Fuel Cock .........................................................................SHUT
2. Airstart Ignition ....................................OFF (IGN MESSAGE OUT)
3. Power Lever .............................................................................IDLE
Before attempting another relight, allow engine to drain for at least
thirty (30) seconds. Try again at lower altitude.

3. Flaps .......................................................................................... 39°
NOTE: Selecting 39° flaps at this point in the approach assumes
that the landing weight is at or below max landing weight. If IMC
(Instrument Meteorological Conditions), continue the approach at 20°
flaps at VREF 20° +10 kts. See Performance, Landing Planning
Data, for landing distance in the flaps 20° configuration.

Reverse Thrust Unlock or Deploy AFM 4-24-10
1. During takeoff, if the REV UNLOCK and / or REV DEPLOY light
and REV UNLOCK warning activate, proceed as follows:
A. At speeds below V1; ABORT takeoff and perform Engine
Failure During Takeoff Below V1 Speed, page EC-2.
B. At speeds above V1; reduce power of affected engine and
continue as with one engine inoperative.
C. Maintain airspeed less than 200 KCAS.

Reverse Thrust Unlock or Deploy, ctd… AFM 4-24-10
D. When the situation permits, depress the T / REV EMER
STOW switch. If warning message and lights extinguish, land
as soon as practical. Reverse thrust will not be available on
landing. Both engines will be available for landing.
E. If thrust reverser does not restow (warning message and lights
illuminated), land as soon as possible using maximum of 20°
flaps if T/R doors are actually deployed.
F. If actuating the T / REV EMER STOW switch causes the
opposite REV UNLOCK light to illuminate, deselect T / REV
EMER STOW switch and land as soon as practical.
2. During flight, if the REV UNLOCK and / or REV DEPLOY lights
and appropriate EICAS warning illuminates; proceed as follows:
NOTE: The REV UNLOCK light may illuminate at high power settings if
hydraulic system pressure is lost.
A. Ensure the reverser power levers are in the stowed position
and retard power lever of the affected engine to idle.
B. Reduce airspeed to less than 200 KCAS.
C. Depress the T / REV EMERG STOW switch. If the Warning
message and lights extinguish, leave switch depressed for
remainder of flight and land as soon as practical. Both engines
are available for remainder of flight.
