 (a)  If there are liquid contaminants found, replace the oxygen mask assembly (AMM 35-21-06/401).
 (4)  S 216-017Do a check for the general condition of the mask hoses and bags. (a) Make sure it is soft and flexible. (b) Examine the color on the mask hoses and bags.
 NOTE:____ A change in the color of the mask bags and hoses occurs with time. It is not necessary to replace the oxygen mask assembly, if there is only a color change with no other conditions such as cracks, brittleness or the presence of oily liquid contaminants.
 (5)  S 906-009Replace the oxygen mask assembly, if it is not in satisfactory condition (AMM 35-21-06/401).
 (6)  S 226-010Pull on each hose at a point near the bayonet fitting with a force of 18 pounds. (a) If the hose comes off when you pull on it, replace the mask (AMM 35-21-06/401).
 (7)  S 866-011Put the masks back in the oxygen box (AMM 35-21-06/401).

 A.  This procedure includes this task:
 (1)  Oxygen Mask Cleaning.
 B.  The mask for PSU's (passenger service units) is installed in each PSU oxygen box. Access to the oxygen box is through the oxygen box door.

Do these steps to clean the oxygen mask assembly, if it is dirty or greasy.

 (a)  Mix a mild cleaning solution of household detergent with warm water.
 NOTE: Obey the instructions on the label.

 (b)  Clean the interior and exterior surfaces of the facepiece and the exterior surfaces of the tubing and bag with a clean lint-free cloth or cheesecloth, soaked in cleaning solution.
 NOTE: Do not disturb the mask diaphragms and do not permit
____ cleaning solution to enter the mask tubing and reservoir bag.
 (c)  Rinse the mask assembly with warm water, and permit the mask assembly to air dry completely.

 (4)  Do these steps to disinfect the mask assembly.
 (a)  
Mix a disinfectant solution of 70 percent isopropyl alcohol with 30 percent de-ionized water.

 (b)  
Wipe the mask assembly with a clean lint-free cloth or cheesecloth, soaked in disinfectant solution.

 NOTE: Make sure the interior and exterior surfaces of the

 facepiece are thoroughly wiped.

 (c)  
Permit the mask assembly to air dry completely.

 (d)  
Examine each mask assembly in a well lighted area. 1) Make sure the mask assembly is visibly clean and free of

 contamination. 2) Make sure the flappers and diaphragms are seated correctly.
