due to a possible aborted takeoff. Add this temperature to the noted Actual Peak Indication of
the BTMS from the previous landing to determine the expected peak temperature if an aborted
takeoff occurs. If this temperature is equal to or less than 810°C, which corresponds to 100
MFP, no additional cooling time is required.
Using the RTO BKE of 83 MFP from the example above, drop down on the chart from the BKE
scale to the BTMS scale and determine the resulting BTMS peak temperature of 690°C. This
temperature can be added to the landing peak BTMS temperature of 350°C (given) to yield a
total expected temperature rise of 1040°C. This is 230°C beyond the 100 MFP limit of 810°C.
Go to 230°C on the temperature scale and read the corresponding cooling time as 0.8 hours.

NOTES:
1. Actual PEAK INDICATION from the BTMS must be used to get an accurate determination
of the required cooling time..
2. PEAK INDICATION will normally occur within 5 minutes after the completion of a
braking cycle.
3. Illumination of the BTMS Overheat Light / Brake OVHT Message indicates that fuseplug
release is possible. Fuseplug release is probable if additional braking is performed.
NOTES FOR BRAKE KINETIC ENERGY AND COOLING CHART:
1. If brakes-on speed is based on groundspeed, don’t use altitude or temperature correction
grids.
2. If brakes-on speed is based on calibrated airspeed, use altitude or temperature correction
grids. For tailwinds, add wind speed runway component to brakes on speed. For
headwinds, subtract wind speed runway component from brakes on speed.
3. If brakes-on speed is unknown, use VREF for landing and V1 for takeoff.
4. If Reverse Thrust is used to control taxi speed and to stop A/C during taxi (requires ASC
166), no taxi BKE is required.
5. BKE’s can be estimated by using an assumed or known brakes-on speed or using the peak
BTMS temperature which occurs about five (5) minutes after a landing or rejected takeoff.

For airplanes with ASC 190 incorporated and SN 1214 and subsequent.
NOISE STANDARDS
The noise levels are in compliance with requirements of FAR Part 36, Stage 3 which are equal to
the requirements of ICAO Annex 16, Chapter 3. This noise certificate complies with ICAO
Annex 6, Paragraph 6.13. Noise levels established in compliance with FAR 36 are:
