Attach the wiper blade to the wiper arm with the blade nut.

 (5)  Do a check to make sure the wiper motor and the converter operate together correctly. (a) Put the windshield wiper switch in the LOW position. (b) Put the windshield wiper switch in the PARK position. (c) Make sure the converter shaft cannot rotate more to the PARK position.
 NOTE:____ When the wiper motor is in the PARK position the converter shaft must be in the PARK position also.

 (6)  Put grease on the adjustment sleeve and the converter shaft.

 (7)  Put the adjustment sleeve on the converter shaft.

 (8)  Install the wiper arm in the PARK position. (a) Put the windshield wiper arm on the converter shaft with the wiper in the PARK position. (b) Put a spring scale on the wiper blade where it connects to the wiper arm. (c) Push down along the windshield with a 2 to 3 pound force on the wiper blade. (d) Make sure the wiper blade does not touch the metal structure.

 (9)  Adjust the position of the wiper blade if it is necessary. (a) Put a temporary mark on the converter shaft and the wiper arm. (b) Remove the wiper arm from the converter shaft. (c) Rotate the wiper arm in the necessary direction.
 NOTE:____ One serration of the adjustment moves the end of the wiper approximately 0.03 inch. You must keep the slot in the adjustment sleeve less than 30 degrees from the slot in the wiper arm.

 WINDSHIELD WIPER ASSEMBLY - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains a task to adjust the windshield wiper assembly.
 B.  This procedure adjusts the pressure of the windshield wiper on the window. After you adjust the pressure, you will operate the windshield wipers to make sure they are adjusted correctly.
