1. Preparation for Test - Setup
These instructions assume the engine is inducted into test with the EEC, HMU, control alternator and essential EBU (Engine Buildup) hardware, such as the engine mounts, wiring harness, starter, oil transmitters and switches, temperature sensors, fuel lines, IDG harness (as applicable) , Hydraulic Pump (as applicable) installed. Should additional EBU hardware be required for facility and adaptation interface, it shall be installed per applicable airframe/item manufacturer instructions.
Prepare the engine for test per following instructional summary using equipment supplier’s procedures. Check sheets should be designed and utilized which are specific to the operation and equipment utilized. Transport the engine to the test cell per test equipment supplier’s procedures at the most convenient time during setup.
A. Hang the engine on the test adapter/cowling unit per procedures specified in the Test Adapter and Cowling Suppliers Equipment Manual.
B. Install test bellmouth and slave exhaust nozzle and plug per procedures specified in the Bellmouth and Nozzle Suppliers Equipment Manual.
C. Complete the following connections, adapter to engine per suppliers’ Equipment Manual.:
1 Engine starter ducting to control valve: Connect the starter air supply to the starter air valve. Make sure the starter air pressure and starter air temperature sensors are installed. Install a 200 micron filter in the air supply, forward of the starter inlet.
2 Fuel supply line to the fuel pump inlet. Install the temperature and pressure probes on the fittings on the fuel supply line.
3 Hydraulic oil supply (as applicable).
4 Fire detection.
5 Electrical Harnesses (test adapter cables to the engine)
• engine control cables - hand tighten only.
• Remote trim (N1 Trim)
• IDG connection (if applicable).
• Core area temperature measurement (multiple zone).
• Vibration Leads: No1 Brg and FFCCV

D. Drain connections: Install clean drain bottles as listed:
7 ea. At 6:00 Drain Mast
1 ea. At A-Sump (5:00 aft fan case)
1 ea. At HMU Overboard
1 ea. At Fuel Pump Pad
1 ea. At Main Fuel/Oil Heat Exchanger
E. Install blank-off plugs and covers (kit 856A3796G03).
F. Install engine dress kit pressure and temperature probes.
