Definitions Civil subsonic jet aeroplane. Shall mean a civil subsonic jet aeroplane with a maximum
certificated maximum internal accommodation for the above aeroplane type in question consisting
of more than 19 passenger seats, excluding any seats for crew only, and powered by engines with
by-pass ratio of less than three.
Re-certificated civil subsonic jet aeroplane. Shall mean a civil subsonic jet aeroplane initially
certificated to Volume I, Part 11, Chapter 2, of Annex 16 to the Convention on International Civil
Aviation, or equivalent standards, or initially not noise-certificated, which has been modified to
meet the standards established in Volume I, Part 11, Chapter 3, of Annex 16 to the Convention,
either directly through technical measures or indirectly through operational restrictions. Civil
subsonic jet aeroplanes that initially could only be dual-certificated to the standards of Volume I,
Part 11, Chapter 3, of Annex 16 by means of weight restrictions have to be considered as recertificated
aeroplanes. CiviI subsonic jet aeroplanes which have been modified to meet Chapter 3
standards by being completely re-engined with engines having a by-pass ratio of three or more are
not considered as re-certificated aeroplanes.
Nationality, wmmon and registration marks to be used. Aircraft operators may operate aircraft
without displaying the registration marks, or temporarily remove a registration mark for the
purposes of exhibitions, air shows, motion pictures or TV productions for a specified period of
time. Permission from the Aviation Authority is required prior to aircraft operations without
displaying the registration marks.

General Aeroplanes non-complying for registration
a) Re-certificated civil subsonic jet aeroplanes cannot be entered into the Slovak aircraft register.

b) The above provision does not apply to civil subsonic jet aeroplanes which have already been
entered into the Slovak aircraft register or the register of any Member State of the European
Community.

Special aircraft registration marks. Slovak aircraft manufacturers or aircraft repair and
maintenance companies which are required to operate aimail for the purpose of test flights within
the scope of the technological process of production or aircraft repair and maintenance can apply
for allocation of a special aircraft registration mark. This can be used according to the policy
approved by the Aviation Authority.
