(f) Visually inspect through the cartridge if the packing O-ring (30) has not escaped from its groove and check if the filter element does not move.
(g) Carefully place filter cover (40) and the filter element cartridge (20) into the gear housing filter.

____ the ribs of the gear housing filter.

(h) Before bolt installation, ensure that the cover is well seated against the housing flange.
(i) lubricate the 6 head faces of the bolt (200) (in contact with the flat washer (210)), the 6 threads bolts and the 6 spherical sides of the self aligning nuts (220) with graphite grease (Material No. CP2101).
(j) Install the bolts. CAUTION : REFER TO THE FIGURE 302 FOR THE CORRECT INSTALLATION.

1_ Install the 6 bolts (200), the 6 washers (210), the 6 self
aligning washers (230) and the nuts (220). Refer to the figure
302 to respect the assembly configuration.

(k) Engage the bolts freely by hand (head bolt held and rotated by finger, no tool usage allowed) and rotate at least two complete turns (it should not be possible to fully hand tighten bolts).
(l) Torque the bolts.
CAUTION : TIGHTEN OF THE BOLTS NEED TO BE PERFORMED WITH
_______ APPROPRIATE TOOLS (PRESET TORQUE WRENCH). EXCESSIVE TORQUE MAY LEAD TO DAMAGE THE HARDWARE.

1 TORQUE the bolts to between 70 and 80 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.90

(m) Unscrew the 6 bolts and RE-TORQUE to between 70 and 80 lbf.in
(0.79 and 0.90 m.daN).
R (n) Install a new O-ring (80) , soak the new O-ring with engine fuel and lubricate it with vaseline (Material No. CP5070), on drain plug (70).
(o) Install drain plug (70) lightly coated with engine fuel. TORQUE drain plug to between 45 and 55 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.62 m.daN). Safety with corrosion resistant steel lockwire 0.8 mm DIA (Material No. CP8001) or corrosion resistant steel lockwire 0.8 mm DIA (Material No. CP8002).

(4) CONFIGURATION 4
(a) Clean the fuel filter housing and cover (40) with dearomatized petroleum (Material No. CP5074) in the groove of the fuel filter cover (40). Make sure that the spring washer and retaining ring are correctly installed on the inner boss of the cover (40).

R (b) Install the new O-ring (10) and O-ring (30) in the related groove of the fuel filter (20) located at the both ends. Soak the new o-rings with engine fuel and lubricate slightly the new O-rings with vaseline (Material No. CP5070).
