10.  Observers' Reading Lights
A.  The first observer's reading light is mounted in the entryway sidewall to the right of the first observer's seat. (See figure 1.) The second observer's reading light, when installed, is mounted to the left of the second observer's seat and above the P18 circuit breaker panel. The observers' reading lights are identical to the flight kit lights. The 28-volt ac transfer bus No. 2 supplies power to the observers' reading lights. The light controls are part of each light assembly. (See figure 5.)
11.  Spare Lamp Box
A. A spare lamp box is located on the sidewall forward and to the right of the first officer's seat.

CONTROL CABIN LIGHTING - TROUBLE SHOOTING
1. General
A.  Trouble shooting the control cabin lighting circuits is easily accomplished since most circuits have more than one light. Comparison with other lights on the same circuit enables personnel to quickly determine whether a bulb is burned out or if a transformer or switch is faulty. Trouble shooting control cabin lighting problems which disable the entire lighting circuit is best accomplished by making voltage checks at the circuit breakers, transformers or switches. Refer to the Wiring Diagram Manual for the location of secondary circuit breakers, transformers and specific instruments or lights on a circuit.
B.  Ensure the variable transformer control is positioned to provide maximum brightness before assuming an entire circuit is inoperative. Turning the variable transformer control to the dim or off position reduces the circuit voltage sufficiently for relamping, replacing lightplates or instruments. When replacing instruments, ensure associated circuit breakers are opened or system is inoperative before removing electrical connectors. Spare bulbs are located in a box mounted on the right sidewall adjacent to the copilot's seat. The following trouble shooting chart lists the more common type of lighting problems which may occur and the procedures for isolating the faulty component.

inoperative  faulty background lights and diode module M560  BKGRD circuit breaker and check that STBY FLOOD & COMPASS circuit breaker is closed on load control center P6. Observe standby lights illuminate. If OK, bulb was faulty. If all lights are off, M560 module is probably faulty  Replace M560 module
