12) Install the applicable adapter (3) to the left side at the rear spar at location H.
13) Install the applicable adapter (6) to the left side at the rear spar at location F.
14) Install the applicable adapter (8) to the left side at the front spar at location E.
15) Install each of the applicable adapters (1) to the left and
right side along the front spar at locations A, B, C, D.
When you put the vertical fin on its left side, do these steps:
1) Connect the bridle hook G to the strongback (10) on the right side at location G.
2) Connect the bridle hook H to the strongback (5) on the right side at location H.
3) Connect the bridle hook C to the strongback (2) on the right side at location C.
4) Connect the bridle hook A to the strongback (2) on the left side at location A.
5) Connect the fixed link to the cable from the crane structure.
6) Connect the crane link to the crane hook.
7) Install the strongback (5) on the right side to the applicable adapter (4) at the rear spar at location H.
8) Install the strongback (5) on the right side to the applicable adapter (7) at the rear spar at location F.
9) Install the strongback (10) on the right side to the applicable adapter (7) at the rear spar at location F.
10) Install the strongback (10) on the right side to the applicable adapter (9) at the front spar at location E.
11) Install each of the strongback (2) to the applicable adapter (1) on the left and right side at the front spar at locations A, B, C and D.
12) Install the applicable adapter (4) to the right side at the rear spar at location H.
13) Install the applicable adapter (7) to the right side at the rear spar at location F.

14) Install the applicable adapter (9) to the right side at the front spar at location E. 15) Install each of the applicable adapter (1) to the left and right side along the front spar at locations A, B, C and D.

(3) Install the vertical fin.
(a)
Lift the fin into its position.
(b)
Use the guide pins to align the holes in the attachment fittings.
(c)
Apply a layer of the grease to all of the bolts which attach the vertical fin.
(d)
Install the two bolts, washers and the nuts which attach the vertical fin to the fuselage at the front spar (Fig. 402 sheet 1). 1) Tighten the nuts until the torque is 50-1500 pound-inches
and the cotter pin holes in the nut and bolt align. 2) Install the cotter pins.
(e)
Install the four bolts, washers and the nuts which attach the rear spar (Fig. 402 sheet 1 & 2). 1) Install the antirotation lock, the antirattle washer, and
the antirotation bolt on the attach bolts
(Fig. 402 sheet 1 & 2). 2) Tighten the antirotation bolts to 660-980 pound-inches. 3) Tighten the nuts to 3300-4300 pound-inches. 4) Install the cotter pin in the inboard bolt of the left hand
and in the inboard bolt of the right hand attach fitting
(Fig. 402 sheet 1).
5) Install the lockwire in the antirotation lock and the antirotation retainer bolt on the outboard side of the left hand and the outboard side of the right hand attach fitting (Fig. 402 sheet 2).

(4) Attach the rudder flight control cables.
(a)
Connect the rudder control cables at the turnbuckles in the stabilizer jackscrew compartment.
(b)
Remove the rig pin from the centering unit output crank.

(5)
Connect the electrical cables.
(a) Connect the VOR and HF cables in the jackscrew compartment above and aft of the pressure bulkhead.
(6)
Connect the rudder control cables at the rudder control power unit.
(7)
Connect the hydraulic lines.
