 F. Remove the Vertical Fin
 S 034-006-B00
 (1)  
Disconnect the hydraulic tubes from the bottom of the fin and install caps.

 (2)  
Disconnect the electrical wires.

 (a)  Disconnect the VOR and HF cables in the stabilizer jackscrew compartment above and aft of the pressure bulkhead.

 (3)  
Disconnect the rudder control cables from the power unit for the rudder control.

 (4)  
Disconnect rudder control cables.

 (a)  
Move the rudder trim indicator in the control cabin to NEUTRAL.

 (b)  
Install the rig pin in the rudder centering unit output crank.

 (c)  
Disconnect the rudder control cables from the turnbuckles in the stabilizer jackscrew compartment. 1) Install the cable clamps on the control cables.

 (5)  If you use the F80035-18 sling assembly, do these steps.
 NOTE: You can remove the vertical fin with or without the rudder
____ installed. Refer to Fig. 401 to use the sling.
 (a)  
Install the sling attachment fittings on the sides of the vertical fin. 1) Install the two sling attachment fittings F80035-9 on the

 left side of the vertical fin. 2) Install the two sling attachment fittings F80035-10 on the right side of the vertical fin. 3) Keep the sling positioning screws.

 (b)  
Attach the sling assembly to the crane.

 (c)  
Put the sling assembly in its position.

 (d)  
Connect the sling to the sling attachment fittings.

 (e)  
Tighten the sling assembly to decrease the load on the fin attachment bolts.

 (6)  If you use the C55004-1 sling assembly, do these steps:
 NOTE: Refer to Fig. 401 to use the sling.

 (a)  When you put the vertical fin on its right side, do these steps: 1) Install each of the applicable adapter (1) to the left and
 right side along the front spar at locations A, B, C, D.

 2)  Install the applicable adapter (8) to the left side at the front spar at location E.
 3)  Install the applicable adapter (6) to the left side at the rear spar at location F.
 4)  Install the applicable adapter (3) to the left side at the rear spar at location H.
 5)  Install each of the strongback (2) to the applicable adapter (1) on the left and right side at the front spar at locations A, B, C and D.
 6)  Install the strongback (10) on the left side to the applicable adapter (8) at the front spar at location E.
 7)  Install the strongback (10) on the left side to the applicable adapter (6) at the rear spar at location F.
 8)  Install the strongback (5) on the left side to the applicable adapter (6) at the rear spar at location F.
 9)  Install the strongback (5) on the left side to the
 applicable adapter (3) at the rear spar at location H.
 10) Connect the crane link to the crane hook.
 11) Connect the fixed link to the cable from the crane
 structure.
 12) Connect the bridle hook A to the strongback (2) on the right side at location A.
 13) Connect the bridle hook C to the strongback (2) on the left side at location C.
 14) Connect the bridle hook H to the strongback (5) on the left side at location H.
 15) Connect the bridle hook G to the strongback (10) on the left side at location G.
 (b) When you put the vertical fin on its left side, do these steps: 1) Install each of the applicable adapter (1) to the left and right side along the front spar at locations A, B, C and D. 2) Install the applicable adapter (9) to the right side at the front spar at location E. 3) Install the applicable adapter (7) to the right side at the rear spar at location F. 4) Install the applicable adapter (4) to the right side at the rear spar at location H. 5) Install each of the strongback (2) to the applicable adapter (1) on the left and right side at the front spar at locations A, B, C and D. 6) Install the strongback (10) on the right side to the applicable adapter (9) at the front spar at location E. 7) Install the strongback (10) on the right side to the applicable adapter (7) at the rear spar at location F. 8) Install the strongback (5) on the right side to the applicable adapter (7) at the rear spar at location F. 9) Install the strongback (5) on the right side to the applicable adapter (4) at the rear spar at location H. 10) Connect the crane link to the crane hook. 11) Connect the fixed link to the cable from the crane
