 F. Procedure
 S 434-030
 (1)  Install the T681, T682, T683, or T684 terminal lugs (10) A/1 and B/2 into the end bracket (5) on one side of the detector.

 (2) Put the flat side of the terminal lug (10) on the detector element perpendicular to the base of the end bracket (5) assemblies.

 (3)  Attach the terminal lug (10) with the retaining nut (4).

 (4)  Use the 5/8 inch boxed end wrench to torque the retaining nut (4) to 100 pound-inches(11.0 newton-meters).

 CAUTION: DO NOT TWIST OR BEND THE DETECTOR ELEMENTS WHEN YOU INSTALL THE
_______ DETECTOR. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DETECTOR ELEMENT.
 (5)  Put the detector element (3) along the support tube (2).
 (a)  Make sure there is not too much slack between any two clamps (1).

 (6)  Install the grommets (12) on the detector element (3) at the
 quick-release clamps (1).

 (7)  Put the detector element (3) with the grommets (12) in the
 quick-release clamp (1), and tighten the stud (13) to attach the
 detector element.
 NOTE:____ Do not install the element into the last 2 or 3 clamps.

Install the remaining end of the detector element (3) in the end bracket (5).

Put the flat side of the terminal lug (1) on the detector element (3) perpendicular to base of the end bracket (5).

 Replace the damaged grommets and those not there on the applicable detector assembly.

 Put the remaining part of the detector element (3) along the remaining quick-release clamps (1).

 (a)  Make sure there is not too much element (3) between any two quick-release clamps (1). If it is necessary, loosen the previously tightened clamps to distribute the element equally along the full length of the support tube (2).

 Tighten the stud (13) to attach the remaining quick-release clamps (1).
