2) Attach the EEC speed transducer to the intermediate case
 with the bolts and washers. 3) Lubricate the threads of the nut with engine oil. 4) Install the key washer and nut to the locating stud. 5) Equally tighten the bolts to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7
 newton-meters) and the nut to 150-170 pound-inches (16.9-19.0 newton-meters).
 NOTE: The EEC speed transducer has a spring in it.
____ Tighten the bolts and nut equally (not one at a time).
 a) Do not bend the key washer.
 (e)  Install the protection mats in the inlet cowl.
 WARNING: YOU MUST WEAR GLOVES WHEN YOU TOUCH THE FAN BLADES TO TURN
_______ THE ROTOR. THE FAN BLADES CAN CAUSE INJURY TO YOU.
 (f)  
Slowly turn the fan rotor, with your hands, 15 degrees counterclockwise as you look from the front of the engine.

 (g)  
Remove the protection mats from the inlet cowl.

 (h)  
Equally remove the bolts and nut which attach the EEC speed transducer to the intermediate case.

 NOTE:____The EEC speed transducer has a spring in it. Loosen the bolts and nut equally (not one at a time).
 CAUTION: DO NOT TRY TO TURN THE EEC SPEED TRANSDUCER UNTIL IT IS
_______ DISENGAGED FROM THE INNER BRACKET. IF YOU TURN THE SPEED TRANSDUCER WHEN IT IS ENGAGED WITH THE INNER BRACKET, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EEC SPEED TRANSDUCER.
 (i)  
Carefully remove the EEC speed transducer from the intermediate case.

 (j)  
Measure the thickness of the remaining beeswax in the area where the remaining beeswax is the thinnest. 1) If the thickness is 0.020-0.050 inch (0.51-1.27 mm), the

 correct shim is installed. 2) If the thickness is less than 0.020 inch (0.51 mm), replace the Class 1 shim with the Class 2 shim. 3) If the thickness is more than 0.050 inch (1.27 mm), remove the shim.

 (k)  
Remove the beeswax from the EEC speed transducer.

 (3)  
Install the EEC speed transducer (N1):

 (a)  
Lubricate the two new packings for the shaft of the EEC speed transducer with engine oil.

 (b)  
Install the two new packings to the grooves in the shaft of the EEC speed transducer.

 (c)  
Lubricate the new packing for the flange of the EEC speed transducer with the petrolatum.

 (d)  
Install the new packing to the groove in the flange of the EEC speed transducer.

 CAUTION: INSTALL THE EEC SPEED TRANSDUCER WITH THE LARGER
_______ ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR TO THE REAR. DO NOT TRY TO TURN THE EEC SPEED TRANSDUCER WHEN IT IS ENGAGED WITH THE INNER BRACKET. IF YOU TURN THE SPEED TRANSDUCER WHEN IT IS ENGAGED WITH THE INNER BRACKET, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EEC SPEED TRANSDUCER.
 (e)  
Carefully install the EEC speed transducer in the intermediate case with the larger electrical connector to the rear.

 (f)  
Install the EEC speed transducer to the engine with the steps that follow: 1) Lubricate the threads of the bolts, which attach the EEC

 speed transducer, with engine oil. 2) Install the bolts to attach the EEC speed transducer.
 a)  ENGINES POST-PW-SB 72-182; Install the drilled bolt next to the PT2.5 connection on the transducer.
 3)  Lubricate the threads of the nut, which is to be installed
 on the locating stud, with engine oil. 4) Install the key washer and nut on the locating stud. 5) Equally tighten the bolts to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7
 newton-meters) and the nut to 150-170 pound-inches (16.9-19.0 newton-meters).
 NOTE: The EEC speed transducer has a spring in it.
____ Tighten the bolts and nut equally (not one at a time).
 6)  Bend the tabs of the key washer against the flats of the nut.
