D. A86 configuration module
The A86 configuration module enables to keep the system parameters and configuration. It is electrically supplied by the flight computer.
It is attached to the rear of the radio rack on the R.H. external side.
E. J92 data loader jack
The J92 data loader jack enables, with a computer, a suitable HONEYWELL floppy disk and an adapter cord, to :
- change flight computer parameters,
- configure the system according to peripherics,
- align the system.
It is attached under the control station table, on pilot's seat side and is marked with the "AUTOPILOT MAINTENANCE PLUG" placard.
F. LS10 buzzer
LS10 buzzer enables to inform the pilot that the autopilot has been disengaged or that the preselected altitude is going to be reached or has been overshot.
The buzzer is electrically supplied by "BUS 1" bar and protected by CB 12 "A/P ALTERT" circuit breaker. It receives its control signal from A82 flight computer.
The buzzer is located on the overhead panel.
 
4. OPERATION
A. Preflight test
"AP/MASTER" switch enables the energization of the system. The flight computer initiates a preflight test consisting in sequencing inner tests. The computer digital display unit shows "PFT" message followed by the sequence number corresponding to the test in progress. When the test is complete, all display segments illuminate, command bar appears on the flight director indicator (KI256) and an audio alerter sounds.
B. Normal operation
With KI256 flight director indicator
- Flight director mode
When "AP" mode is engaged, the flight director enables to visualize calculated flight orders on M30 flight director indicator (with the command bars). The flight director cannot be disengaged when the autopilot mode is engaged.
When the autopilot mode is not engaged, depressing "FD" push-button engages the flight director mode. The command bar appears on M30 flight director indicator. If no lateral or vertical tracking mode is selected, the existing pitch attitude hold default mode is engaged. The A82 flight computer calculates the commands necessary to meet the modes engagd, these commands are then transmitted to the flight director command bar. The pilot must move the aircraft controls manually to meet the flight director commands.
Depressing "FD" push-buttons disengages the flight director mode.

- "AP" autopilot mode
When depressed momentarily, "AP" pushbutton engages the autopilot mode.
All the engaged modes of the flight director are taken into account by the autopilot.
The commands computed by A82 flight computer are transmitted to the servo actuators which actuate the flight controls to meet the autopilot requirements.
- Pitch attitude modification
In "AP" or "FD" mode, the pitch attitude can be modified by the pilot either by actuating one of the computer "UP" or "DN" pushbutton or by holding "CWS" pushbutton depressed and manually selecting the new attitude. The new reference will be the reference current upon "CWS" pushbutton release.
