20 If the 115VAC is not available at the connector 38QA, do a
__ test of the aircraft wiring (three phase supply) between the CNTOR-CTR PUMP 2 SPLY (36QA) and the PUMP-FUEL No 2, CTR TK (38QA) connector 38QA-A (Ref. AWM 28-21-06).
NOTE : The aircraft wiring can be divided into two sections
____ (lengths) at the connector 7577VC. The section of the power supply cable between 7577VC-A and the fuel pump connector 38QA-A is located in a fuel and vapour zone (Ref. ESPM 20-31-36).
Do the test as follows:
a Continuity test, with an (intrinsically safe) multimeter,
_ of each three phase wire (from end to end) (Ref. ESPM 20-52-21).
b Insulation test, with an (intrinsically safe) 500VDC
_ insulation tester, between each phase wire (pole) and ground (Ref. ESPM 20-52-24).
c Insulation test, with an (intrinsically safe) 500VDC
_ insulation tester, between each phase wire and the other two wires (pole to pole) (Ref. ESPM 20-52-24).
d Repair or replace the unserviceable wiring and connectors.
_ If a wire (between the connector 7577VC-A and the fuel pump connector 38QA-A, that goes through the pressure seal (bung) 7508VP) is found to be damaged, the complete section (length) of (each) wire must be replaced.
e Install the front cover of the contactor box 107VU.
_
f Connect the fuel pump supply cable end connector 38QA-A to
_ the fuel pump receptacle.
g Do the Functional Test of the Center Tank Fuel Control
_ (Manual Mode) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-00-720-001).
(3) If the fuel transfers:
(a) Set the CTR TK PUMP 2 P/BSW (34QA) to OFF (release out). This will de-energize the contactor 36QA and remove the 28VDC from the pressure switch.
(b) Open the right main landing gear door for access (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(c) Get access to center tank fuel pump No. 2, pressure switch 40QA (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-15-000-003).

(d) Disconnect the free connector 40QA-A from the PRESS SW-FUEL PUMP NO 2, CTR TK (40QA).
(e) Set the CTR TK PUMP 2 P/BSW (34QA) to ON (push in). This will energize the contactor 36QA.
(f) See if the P/BSW (34QA) FAULT legend is on or off (with the pressure switch disconnected and the P/BSW pushed (in)).
(g) Set the CTR TK PUMP 2 P/BSW (34QA) to OFF (release out). This will de-energize the contactor 36QA.
(h) If the P/BSW-FUEL/CTR TK/PUMP 2 (34QA) FAULT legend stays on go to step (j). If the P/BSW-FUEL/CTR TK/PUMP 2 (34QA) FAULT legend goes off:
- do a check of, and replace if necessary, the PRESS SW-FUEL PUMP NO 2, CTR TK (40QA) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-15-000-003) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-15-400-001).
NOTE : The fuel-pump fuel pressure can be measured at the safety
____ valve outlet using an ADAPTOR - SEQUENCE VALVE (99A28404000000). This can be installed in place of the pressure switch 40QA (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-45-400-003).
(i) If the fault continues, or if no fuel pressure is shown on the gage of the ADAPTOR - SEQUENCE VALVE, make sure that these components are in the correct condition:
- the pressure switch safety valve
- the pressure switch plug (banjo adaptor attachment bolt)
