(a)  
Before use, place a 1 meg-ohm 5% resistor on a piece of paper and place the 2 test probes on the back of the meter, across the resistor.

NOTE:  Resistor will be verified with calibrated meter traceable to NIST.

(b)  
Push the “Test” button, The 106 light should illuminate.

(2)  
Check the wrist straps resistance to ground;

(a)  
Put the wrist strap on, with its ground wire attached, allowing it to contact bare skin.

(b)  
Connect the plug end of the SRM’s ground wire into the meter and the clip end to the banana end of the wrist strap ground wire.

(c)  
Place any finger against the RTG strip on the back of the meter.

(d)  
Press the “Test” button. The meter should indicate a reading of 108 or below. If the red or yellow light illuminates, there is a problem with the wrist strap.

(3)  
Check the mats resistance to ground;

(a)  
Connect the plug end of the SRM’s ground wire into the meter and attach the clip end to earth ground, preferably not at the same point that the mats ground wire is attached.

(b)  
While holding the SRM meter in one hand with your fingers across the RTG strip on the back of the meter, press and hold the “Test” button.

(c)  
Touch the mat with your other hand. The meter should indicate a reading

of 108or below. If not, there is a problem with the mats grounding system.

(4)  Check the mats surface resistivity;
(a)  
Do not wear the wrist strap and do not have the ground wire plugged into the SRM meter.

(b)  
Place the meter flat on the mat and press the “Test” button. A green light should illuminate. If the red or yellow light illuminates, there is a problem with the mats surface resistivity.

(c)  
Repeat this procedure in the five different mat locations (X’s) as shown in Figure 1.

BATCH/LOT CONTROL
1.  General
A.  PMI is batch, lot or serialized controlled. In the event a batch requires splitting, procedures are in place to control inventories and documentation.
B.  Batch and lot traceability shall be maintained for parts that are identified as batch or lot traceable. This material will be stored separately which will ensure that material from different batches/lot will not commingle. The AMES Material Services, Inc. Representatives will maintain records indicating the quantity originally received and quantity sold from each batch to each customer to facilitate recall notification if required. the quantity received, less sales quantity should equal the inventory.
