FAR21.463 :[Supplemental type certi.cates.]
(a)
[For each supplemental type certi.cate issued under this subpart, the DAS shall followtheprocedure manualprescribedinSec.21.441 and shall,beforeissuing the certi.cate–

(1)
Submit to the Administrator a statement describing–

(i)
The type design change;

(ii)
The airworthiness requirements of this chapter (by part and e.ective date) that the DAS considers applicable; and

(iii) Theproposedprogramfor meeting the applicable airworthinessrequire-ments;

(2)
Find that each applicable airworthiness requirement is met; and

(3)
Find that the type ofproductfor which theSTCis tobeissued, as modi.edby the supplemental typedesigndata upon which theSTCisbased,is ofproper design for safe operation.

 

(b)
Within 30 days after the date of issue of the STC, the DAS shall submit to the Administrator–

(1)
Two copies of the STC;

(2)
One copy of the design data approvedby the DAS and referred toin the STC;

(3)
One copy of each inspection and test report; and

(4)
Two copies of each revision to the Aircraft Flight Manual or to the operating limitations, and any other information necessary for safe operation of the product.]

FAR21.477 :[Data review and service experience.]
(a)
[If the Administrator .nds that a product for whichan STC was issued under this subpartdoes not meet the applicable airworthiness requirements, or that an unsafe feature or characteristic caused by a defect in design or manufacture exists, the DAS, upon noti.cation by the Administrator, shall investigate the matter and report to the Administrator the results of the investigation and the action, if any, taken orproposed.

(b)
If correctiveactionby the user of theproductis necessary for safety because of any noncomplianceordefectspeci.edinparagraph(a) ofthissection,theDAS shall submit the information necessary for the issue of an Airworthiness Directive under Part 39.]

(a)
[The DASshall maintain, at its facility, current records containing–

(1)
For eachproductfor whichithasissuedanSTC under this subpart, a technical data .lethatincludesanydataand amendmentsthereto(including drawings, photographs,speci.cations,instructions,and reports) necessaryfortheSTC;

(2)
Alist ofproductsby make, model, manufacturer’sserial number and,if appli-cable, any FAA identi.cation, that have been altered under the DAS authori-zation; and

(3)
A .le of information from all available sources on alteration di.culties of products altered under the DAS authorization.

 

(b)
The recordsprescribedinparagraph(a) of this section shallbe–

(1)
Made availablebytheDAS, upon theAdministrator’s request,for examination by theAdministrator at any time; and
