 5. Mask/Regulator in the Stored Condition Test (In-Situ)

 NOTE: Do the test at the captain's station and then do the test at the

 first officer's station.

 A. General
 (1)  The mask/regulator test uses the crew oxygen cylinder.

 D. Prepare for the Test
 S 865-136
 (1)  
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 S 865-137

 (2)  
Make sure these circuit breakers are closed:

 (a)  P18 Oxygen System Panel
 1) OXYGEN SYSTEM IND

 (3) Make sure the shutoff valve of the crew oxygen system is open.

 WARNING: YOU MUST OPEN THE SHUTOFF VALVE SLOWLY, OR HIGH
_______ TEMPERATURES CAN OCCUR. THIS CAN START AN IGNITION WITH THE OXYGEN AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
 (4)
Make sure the shutoff valve of the crew oxygen cylinder is open.

Make sure that the pressure indicator of the crew oxygen system on the aft overhead panel shows a cylinder pressure of 150 - 1900 psi.

On the audio selector panel, do these steps (AMM 23-51-00/501):

 (a)  
Set the audio selector panel to the interphone audio position.

 (b)  
Set the audio selector panel to the interphone microphone selector position.

 (c)  
Set the audio selector panel to the oxygen mask microphone position.

 (d)  
Turn on the cabin interphone speaker and set the volume to the midrange position.

 (e)  
Push the PTT switch on the control wheel down to the INT position. 1) Make sure you can speak and hear between the flight crew

 with the oxygen masks a) Make sure the volume level of the speakers does not decrease.

 (7)  On the mask stowage box, do these steps:
 (a)  
Move the sliding control to the TEST position for one second and then release.

 (b)  
Monitor the sliding control and make sure it goes back to its initial position.

 (c)  
Make sure the oxygen flow blinker momentarily becomes a yellow color, and then becomes a black color again.

 (d)  
Move the sliding control to the TEST position.

 (e)  
Push the PRESS TO TEST knob on the regulator for approximately one second and then release the knob.

 (f)  
Make sure that the flow blinker is a yellow color when the knob is pushed in and then changes to a black color when the knob is released.

 (g)  
Move the sliding control to TEST.

 (h)  
Push the PRESS TO TEST knob on the regulator and hold the knob in this position.

 (i)  
The oxygen flow is audible.
 1) Release all the controls.

 (j)  
Move the sliding control to the TEST position.

 (k)  
Hold the inflation ears on the mask/regulator harness while the mask/regulator is in the box.

 (l)  
Make sure that the flow blinker changes from a yellow color while the harness inflates (two seconds maximum) and then changes to a black color.

 (m)  
Release the sliding control and the harness inflation ears.
