 4)  Install the gearbox bolt into the gearbox plug at a sufficient depth to start the nut on the bolt. Then install the nut and tighten it with your hand 1 1/2 to 2 turns.
 (b)  Install the plug and seal assembly on the end of the gearshaft.
 NOTE: The bolt head must engage the groove behind the
____ drive shaft splines before the plug engages the gear shaft splines.
 (c)  After the head of the bolt engages the gear shaft groove, push the plug fully into the gear shaft. 1) Make sure the plug splines engage with the gear shaft
 splines.

Remove the nut and install the washer.

 (e)  
Install the nut on the bolt. 1) Tighten the nut to 36-40 pound-inches (4.1-4.5 N.m).

Remove the adapter fitting that is installed in the drain boss. The drain tube B-nut attaches to this.

Install the drive pad cover and the gasket on the face of the drive pad for the hydraulic pump.

 (b)  
Install four locknuts on the mounting studs for the hydraulic pump. 1) Tighten the locknuts to 275-300 pound-inches (31.1-33.9

 N.m).

Install the plugs on the inlet hose, the outlet hose, and the case drain hose.

Run the engine at idle (AMM 71-00-00/501) and examine the installation for oil leakage.
