(a)  
Apply the anti-seize compound to the threads of the barrel nut (19).

 (b)  
Install the barrel nut retainer (18), and the barrel nut (19) on the upper corner of the forward left side of the precooler.

 (c)  
Apply the thread lubricant to the O-ring (32) and the threads on the tee (30).

 (d)  
Install the tee (30), jamnut (31), bracket (34), and O-ring (32) on the boss on the forward left corner of the precooler.

 (e)  
Tighten the jamnut when the tee (30) is aligned with the pressure sense tube (6).

 (f)  
Apply the thread lubricant to the O-ring (32) and the threads of the tee (33).

 (g)  
Install the tee (33), jamnut (31), bracket (34), and O-ring (32) on the boss on the aft right corner of the precooler.

 (h)  
Tighten the jamnut (31) when the tee (33) is aligned with the tubes (25 and 26) and when the clamps (27) on the bracket (34) is aligned with the tubes (23 and 24).

 (i)  
Install the brackets (35 and 37) on the precooler-fan-air inlet.

 (2)  Use anti-seize compound to lubricate the precooler mounting bolts (15 and 22), bushings (13 and 20), and nuts (10).

 (7)  Engage the link (17) with the mount on the upper corner of the aft left side of the precooler (1) (Fig. 401, Sheet 3). (a) Install the bushing (13). (b) Put the washer (14) on the bolt (15) with the countersunk side of the washer adjacent to the bolthead. (c) Install the bolt (15), washer (11) and the nut (10).

 (8)  Engage the link (16) with the mount on the lower corner of the aft left side of the precooler (1) (Fig. 401, Sheet 3). (a) Install the bushing (13). (b) Put the washer (14) on the bolt (15) with the countersunk side of the washer adjacent to the bolthead. (c) Install the bolt (15), washer (11), and the nut (10).

 (9)  Do the steps that follow to install the couplings (7) on the ducts upstream and downstream of the precooler: (a) Tighten the couplings (7) to 115-125 pound-inches (13-14 N.m). (b) Lightly hit each coupling around its perimeter with a fiber hammer.
 (c) (d)  Continue the torque-hit procedure until three torque-hit cycles are completed.Tighten the couplings (7) to 115-125 pound-inches (13-14 N.m).
