2.2.2  Course Review
2.2.2.1  ATC training courses, including training for unusual circumstances and emergencies (TRUCE), shall be reviewed annually. This shall be achieved by application of one or more of the following methods:
a) monitoring the progress of students undertaking on-the-job training to identify additional skills or knowledge required to be taught on the course;
b) subjecting the courses to review by organisations that provide air traffic control services;
c) requiring instructional staff to maintain unit endorsements;
d) audit by a competent authority.
2.2.2.2  Training providers may change their course in accordance with any findings arising from the reviews provided that these do not result in the course failing to meet the requirements stated in paragraph 1.2.3 above. Changes made to ATC training courses resulting from the reviews shall be documented in the CDD, together with the reasons for making them.

Part 3 Conduct of Courses

1  Course Programme
1.1  Requirement
The course shall follow the programme stated in the CDD, amended as necessary to comply with any conditions specified in the course approval.
1.2  Acceptable Means of Compliance Unavoidable variations shall be logged and retained in the course records.

1.3  Guidance
1.3.1  Students may come from a variety of backgrounds and may learn at different rates. Where individual teaching times need to be changed due to these factors, provided the changes do not involve a significant change in the time normally spent on the subject, no notification need be made.
1.3.2  Modifications to lesson plans due to changes in legislation or to the Manual of Air Traffic Services Part 1 (CAP 493), or similar documents, are considered unavoidable and need only be logged in the master CDD.

2  Attendance Records
2.1  Requirement
2.1.1  The training provider shall maintain records to show that each student has undertaken, in full, the approved course of training.
2.1.2  The training provider shall inform SRG of the nominal roll and results for all training courses on form SRG 1418.
2.1.3  The training provider shall ensure that trainees attending an OJTI or examiner course have been nominated by an ANSP.

2.2  Acceptable Means of Compliance
Where a student has followed the approved course of training, a record of attendance will suffice. Where periods of absence have occurred, records must show how missed training has been recovered.

3  Assessment Programme
3.1  Requirement
3.1.1  Students' progress shall be monitored and assessed in accordance with the course programme.
3.1.2  Students must have an understanding of the relevance of the knowledge and skills gained while attending the approved course.

3.2  Acceptable Means of Compliance
There must be a comprehensive assessment scheme that is appropriate in style covering all sub-topics of competence in a progressive manner.

3.3  Guidance
3.3.1  The performance objectives required for the satisfactory completion of each course of study are specified in the relevant Part(s) of CAP 624.
3.3.2  Guidance on assessment procedures is contained in Part 4.
Part 4 Assessments

1  Assessment Schemes
1.1  Requirement All assessment schemes must be approved by the CAA.
1.2  Acceptable Means of Compliance
1.2.1  Students shall be assessed in accordance with the procedures contained in the CDD.
1.2.2  Assessments required by the CAA in accordance with the course approval shall be conducted by qualified assessors.
1.2.3  Objectives must be specified for each practical, written, verbal or other form of assessment.
1.2.4  On each course or module of a course, periods of instruction and assessment shall be clearly defined.
