A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Make sure that the protective cap (supplied by bottle vendor) is installed on the bottle.

A. Installation of the Discharge Head
(1)
Remove the protective cap (supplied by bottle vendor) from the fire extinguisher bottle (9).
(2)
Install the discharge head (1) on the fire extinguisher bottle (9) but do not torque at this time.
NOTE : Replace the discharge head (1) if the fire extinguisher bottle
____ (9) has been used.
(3)
Install the nut assembly:
(a)
Install the spring (5) and the knurled ring (6) in the three keyways of the nut (2). Lock the assembly with the retaining ring (7).
(b)
Install the nut assembly on the discharge head (1) and install the ring (3).
(c)
Install the new O-ring (4).
(4)
Install the fire extinguisher bottle (9) on the DISCHARGE HEAD, INSTL
-FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE (98D26203500000).
(a)
Set the discharge head:
-
use the discharge head locator (5) for the bottle 1,
-
use the discharge head locator (2) for the bottle 2. NOTE : Remove the discharge head locator which is not used.
(b)
Put the bottle (9) on the supports (3).
(c)
Safety the bottle (9) with the screws (1) and tighten by hand.
(d)
Install the pin (6) in the discharge head (7) and on the discharge head locator (2) or (5).
(e)
TORQUE the nut (8) with the wrench (4) to between 350 and 400 lbf.in (3.95 and 4.52 m.daN).
(f)
Remove the screws (1).
(5)
Remove the fire extinguisher bottle (9) from the DISCHARGE HEAD, INSTL - FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE (98D26203500000) and put it on the applicable support.
(6)
Safety the nut (8) of the discharge head (7) with stainless steel lockwire.
