 Subtask 28-00-00-560-050 
R  A. Preparation for Installation
 (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026).
 (2) Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
 (3) Make a visual inspection of the fuel pipes. They must not be blocked.
 NOTE : The damage limits for fuel pipes and fuel line shrouds are____ given in the Fuel Pipe Repair Manual (Ref. FPRM Description) and (Ref. FPRM Check). 
R R  (4) Lubricate the new O-rings with FUELS (Material No. 01-001) or COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-012) and install them on the applicable fuel pipe in the correct position. 
R  (5) For detail A and B joint types, if the rib fittings are removed:
 (a) Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-005) to the interface of the rib and the fitting.
 (6) Put the fuel pipe in the correct position.

R RR  B. Installation of the Fuel Pipes (Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 28-00-00-991-001) 
R  (1) For joint types (detail A): 
R R  (a) Attach the end connectors (1) with the bolts (4) and the nuts (3).

R  (b) Install the bonding lead (6) with the bolt (5) and the nut (7) 
R  (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-006). 
R  (2) For joint types (detail B): 
R  (a) Push the pipe into the rib connectors (9) (one at each end). 
R  (b) Install the pipe and the rib connectors (9) and attach them with 
R  the bolts (10) and the nuts (8). 
R  (c) Install the bonding lead (11) with the bolt (12) and the nut (13) 
R  (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-006). 
R  (3) For joint types (detail C): 
R  (a) If it is necessary, install the rib connectors (25) and (19) and 
R  attach them with the bolts (20) and the nuts (18). 
R  (b) Make sure that the retaining ring (16) is in the correct 
R  position. 
R  (c) Push the pipe (17) into the rib connector (25). 
R  (d) Attach the pipes with the retaining nuts (15) and (24). 
R  (e) Install the bonding lead (21) with the bolt (22) and the nut (23) 
R  (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-006). 
R  (4) For joint types (detail E): 
R  (a) Make sure that the retaining rings (30) are in their correct 
R  position. 
R  (b) Push the pipes into the connector (32) and attach them with the 
R  retaining nuts (31). 
R  (c) Install the bonding lead (27) with the bolt (28) and the nut (29) 
R  (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-006). 
R  (5) To install the fairleads (detail F): 
R  (a) Put the two halves of the fairlead (37) on the pipe and install 
R  the bolts (35) and the nuts (36). 
R  (b) Install the bolts (41), the washers (42) and the nuts (34).

 

R R  (c) Install the bonding lead (39) with the bolt (38) and the nut (40) (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-006). 
R  (6) For joint types (detail G): 
R R  (a) If it is necessary, install the rib connector (45) and attach it with the bolts (50) and the nuts (51). 
R R  (b) Make sure that the retaining ring (43) is in the correct position. 
R R  (c) Push the pipe into the rib connector (45) and attach it with the retaining nut (44). 
R R  (d) Install the bonding lead (46) with the bolt (47) and the nut (48) (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-006).
 5. Close-up________

 A. Close Access
 (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
 (2) Close access to the applicable fuel tank (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
 (3) Install the applicable access panels:
 (a) For the LH and RH wing (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-400-001), (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-400-002).
 (b) If applicable, install the wing-tip (Ref. TASK 57-31-21-400-001).
 (c) For FR42, install the access cover 147AZ(148AZ) (Ref. TASK 57-17-11-400-001).

 B. Operational Test
 (1) Do an operational test of the defuel system (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-710-002).
