R B. If the BITE test gives the message TEST PASSED:
R - do an electrical resistance test of the IDG 2 disconnect solenoid for
R an open circuit or a high resistance condition between pin A/12 and pin
R A/13 of the IDG 2 (3 ohms plus or minus 1 ohm) (Ref. ASM 24-21/01).

R (1) If the resistance values are out of the specified limits:
R - replace the engine 2 IDG (4000XU) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-000-040)
R and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-400-040).

R (2) If the resistance values are in the specified limits:
R - replace the RELAY-IDG 2 DISC CTL (4XT)
R - do a dynamic disconnect test of the IDG 2 (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-00-R 720-041).

R (a) If the test is OK:
R - stop the trouble shooting.

R (b) If the test is not OK:
R - do a check of the wiring for an open circuit or a short to
R ground between pin A1 of the IDG 2 disconnect control relay
R (4XT) and pin A/12 of the IDG 2 (Ref. ASM 24-21/01).

R 1_ If the wiring is not correct:
R - repair or replace as necessary.

R 2_ If the wiring is correct:
R - replace the GCU-2 (1XU2) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-22-34-000-001)
R and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-22-34-400-001).

R a_ If the fault continues:
R - replace the engine 2 IDG (4000XU) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-R 51-000-040) and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-400-040).

R C. Do the test given in para. 3.

R A. If the fault symptom is identified by the CFDS message IDG1 (E1-4000XU)
R and the upper ECAM-DU warning GEN 1 FAULT:

R (1) If one of these CFDS messages:
R - IDG1 (E1-4000XU) OIL OUT TEMP/ GCU1 (1XU1)
R - IDG1 (E1-4000XU) LOW OIL PRESSURE
R comes into view with IDG1 (E1-4000XU), do the trouble shooting for
R these messages first:

R (a) Do the procedure for an overtemperature (Ref. TASK 24-00-00-810-
R 808).
R (b) Do the procedure for a low oil pressure (Ref. TASK 24-20-00-810-R 904).

R (2) If the CFDS messages given in step (1) do not come into view:
R - replace the engine 1 IDG (4000XU) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-000-040)
R and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-400-040).

R B. Do this operational test to make sure that the system operates correctly. R (1) Aircraft Maintenance Configuration R (a) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
R (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
R (b) Do the EIS start procedure (Upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
R (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
R (2) On the ELEC panel 35VU:

R - push, release and push again the GEN 1 pushbutton switch (3XU1).

R (3) Do the operational test of the GAPCU (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-740-R 002).
R (4) Start the engine 1 (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-003).
R (5) Do this test:
