Operational Check of GAPCU via CFDS
R (1) Do the BITE test of the GAPCU (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-740-002).
R NOTE : If the CFDS message PB BUS TIE (10XU) / BTC2 (11XU2) / GCU2
____ R (1XU2) comes into view when the flight crew or the maintenance R personnel puts the BUS TIE pushbutton switch (10XU) in the R released or OFF position the trouble shooting is not R necessary. This can occur during an electrical system test or R during trouble shooting. R If the flight crew or the maintenance personnel did not R operate the BUS TIE pushbutton switch and this CFDS message R comes into view, do the trouble shooting procedure that R follows.
R (a) If the BITE test gives the message TEST FAILED: R - do the trouble shooting given in Para 4.A.
R (b) If the BITE test gives the message TEST PASSED: R - do the trouble shooting given in Para 4.B.

R 4. Fault Isolation_______________
R A. If the BITE test gives the message TEST FAILED:
R - push the line key adjacent to the TEST FAILED message.
R (1) If the maintenance message GCU2 (1XU2) comes into view:
R - replace the GCU-2 (1XU2) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-22-34-000-001) and (Ref.
R AMM TASK 24-22-34-400-001).
R B. If the BITE test gives the message TEST PASSED:
R - replace the BTC-2 (11XU2) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-22-55-000-001) and (Ref.
R AMM TASK 24-22-55-400-002).
R (1) If the fault continues:
R - do a check of the status sense wiring for an open circuit or high
R resistance condition between pin A/4C of the GCU 2 and pin B/29 of
R the BTC 2 (Ref. ASM 24-22/03).
R (a) If the wiring is not correct:
R - repair or replace as necessary.
R (b) If the wiring is correct:
R - replace the GCU-2 (1XU2) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-22-34-000-001) and
R (Ref. AMM TASK 24-22-34-400-001).
R C. When you replace a component or repair the wiring:
R - do the subsequent flight before you do the check of the Class 3 Faults
R of the GAPCU from the CFDS to make sure that the system operates
R correctly.
