 Power - ON.

 (a)  Make sure the test set meter goes up to full scale and shows FR1 and FR2 (ATC transponder has reply to interrogation).

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT USE CODES 7500, 7600-7677, 7700-7777. THESE ARE EMERGENCY CODES.
 (2)  Set the code switches on the ATC control panel to a desired ATC ID code.
 (a)  Make sure the test set receives and shows the same ATC ID code.

 (a)  Make sure the test set shows a decimal point in its display.
 NOTE: To get the proper results, it may be necessary to move
____ the test set to a different position to receive sufficient signal strength. Also, adjust the test set frequency to equal the ATC transponder frequency. Do not adjust the frequency by more than |6 MHz.

 (4)  Change the ATC ID code on the ATC control panel to its compliment. The compliment of the code is 7777 minus the code. This does a check of the full code capability of transponder.
 EXAMPLE: If the code is 0340, its compliment is:
 7777 - 0340 = 7437 compliment.

Adjust the RCVR/SENS control so that the meter goes up about 1/4 scale.

Adjust the 1090 MHz control above or below 0 for MAXIMUM meter movement. Maximum emor is |3 MHz.

 (a)  Make sure the transponder's reply rate is more than 90%.

 (a)  Make sure the transponder did not reply to the interrogations (REPLY should be 1.3% or less).
 NOTE: Some transponder may transmit a reply to an
____ interrogation with SLS pulse at 0 db. Move the test set closer to the transponder antenna to increase the signal strength.
