Install a cap on the overboard dump line for the bleed air.

 (l)  
Remove the container with the fuel from below the fuel heater.

 (3)  Remove the fuel heater from the upper shroud:
 (a)  
Remove the screws and washers that hold the clamps to the upper shroud.

 (b)  
Remove the clamps, fuel heater and spacers.

 (c)  
Install the caps on all the fuel heater openings.

 (4)  If maintenance is necessary on the check valve for the fuel heater, remove the check valve from the fuel heater:
 (a)  
Remove the check valve from the fuel heater.

 (b)  
Remove the packing from the check valve. 1) Discard the packing.

 (1)  If the check valve was removed from the fuel heater, install the check valve:
 (a)  Put a new packing on the check valve.

(b)  Install the check valve to the fuel heater.
 NOTE: Make sure the arrow on the check valve points in the

 direction of the fuel heater.

 (2)  Install the fuel heater on the upper shroud:
 (a)  
Remove the caps from all the fuel heater openings.

 (b)  
Loosely install the fuel heater to the upper shroud with the spacers, clamps, washers and screws.

 (3)  Connect the fuel lines and the bleed air lines to the fuel heater:
 (a)  
Remove the cap from the fuel outlet line.

 (b)  
Connect the fuel outlet line to the fuel heater.

 (c)  
Remove the cap from the fuel inlet line.

 (d)  
Connect the fuel inlet line to the check valve on the fuel heater.

 (e)  
Remove the cap from the inlet line for the bleed air.

 (f)  
Connect the inlet line for the bleed air to the fuel heater.

 (g)  
Remove the cap from the overboard dump line for the bleed air.

 (h)  
Connect the overboard dump line for the bleed air to the fuel heater.

 (4)  
Tighten the clamps that hold the fuel heater to the upper shroud.

 (5)  
Do a check of the fuel heater for leakage:

 (a)  
Supply external electrical power to the airplane
 (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (b)  
Install the plug to the fuel supply hose.

 (c)  
Set the No. 1 AFT FUEL PUMP switch on the P5 forward overhead panel to the ON position.

 NOTE: If you must use the fuel boost pumps in the
____ center tank, you must have a maintenance person or observer in the flight compartment to continuously monitor the LOW PRESSSURE lights. Turn the applicable fuel boost pump to the OFF position if the LOW PRESSURE light for the center tank stays on.
 (d)  
Manually open the APU fuel valve.

 (e)  
Monitor the fuel heater to make sure there are no leaks: 1) Put the container below the fuel supply hose.
