 D. Procedure
 S 424-006
 (1)  Install the bleed air valve:
 (a)  Put the bleed air valve and a new packing in their positions between the duct flanges.

(b)  
Apply a layer of the antiseize compound to the clamp bolts.

 (c)  
Install the clamps that attach the bleed air valve to the ducts. 1) Do not tighten the clamps at this time.

 (d)  
Align the turnbuckle in the hanger clamp.

 (e)  
Install the bolt, the washer, and the nut that attach the turnbuckle to the hanger clamp. 1) Tighten the nut to 50 pound-inches (5.7 newton-meters).

 (f)  
Connect the control line for the bleed air to the bleed air valve.

 NOTE: If it is necessary, you can turn the valve to
____
 connect the air line.

 (g)  
Go in the horizontal stabilizer compartment and install the clamp on the airplane pneumatic ducts. 1) Tighten the clamp nut to 50 pound-inches (5.7

 newton-meters).

 (h)  
In the APU compartment, tighten the clamp nuts to 50
 pound-inches (5.7 newton-meters).

 (i)  
Connect the electrical connectors to the bleed air valve. 1) Install lockwires on the electrical connectors.

 (2)  Set the circuit breakers and the switch:
 (a)  Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers: 1) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit 2) P6 Circuit Breaker Panel
 a) STAB TRIM 3) Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU master switch on the P5 forward overhead panel.

 (3)  Do the APU operation test (AMM 49-11-00/501).
 (a)  During the APU operation, examine the clamp joints for leakage.

(b)  If you found leakage, repair the cause of it.

 (4)  Close the access doors:
 (a)  
Disconnect the support rods for the APU cowl door.

 (b)  
Put the door support rods in the clips on the APU cowl door.

 (c)  
Close the APU cowl door.

 (d)  
Close the latches on the APU cowl door.

 (e)  
Close the access door for the horizontal stabilizer compartment.

 A.  This procedure gives the tasks to remove and to install the bleed air duct. The bleed air duct is found in the APU compartment between the upper shroud and the bleed air valve.
