Procedure

 S 424-008
 (1)  
Install the sequence mechanism (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Apply a thin layer of the corrosion preventive compound on the shaft of the sequence mechanism.

 (b)  
Make sure that the rig pin SB-1 is installed in the cable quadrant.

 (c)  
Install the crank (2) and the control rod (16) on the sequence mechanism (11).

 (d)  
Put the coupling (1) on quadrant shaft.

 (e)  
Put the sequence mechanism in its position with the shaft in the coupling.

 (f)  
Install the four bolts (8 and 12), nuts (10), and washers (9) to attach the sequence mechanism.

 (g)  
Tighten the nuts on the coupling.

 (h)  
Connect the control rod (16) to the control valve for the ground spoiler with the bolt (13), washer (14), and nut (15).

 (i)  
Remove the rig pin SB-1 from the cable quadrant.

 (2)  
Connect the two control rods (3 and 4) to the sequence mechanism and the spoiler differential mechanisms.

 (a)  
Make sure that the captain's aileron control wheel is in the neutral position.

 (b)  
Put the speed brake lever in the DOWN position.

 (c)  
Make sure the aft quadrant touches the downstop.

 (d)  
Install the rig pin A/S-12 in the left spoiler differential mechanism.

 (e)  
Install the rig pin A/S-13 in the right spoiler differential mechanism.

 (f)  
Align each rod assembly with the input lever on the applicable spoiler differential mechanism and install the bolt (5). 1) If it is necessary, adjust the length of the control rod.

 (g)  
Install the washers (6) and nuts (7) to attach the control rods.

 (h)  
Remove the rig pins A/S-12 and A/S-13.

 (3)  
Do this task: "Hydraulic System Pressurization" (Ref 29-11-00/201).

 (4)  
Do a test of the sequence mechanism:

 (a)  
Put the speed brake lever in the DOWN position. 1) Make sure that all spoilers are in the down position.

 (b)  
Put the speed brake lever in the FLIGHT position.

 1)  Make sure that spoilers No. 3, 4, 9 and 10 extend to the 45-degree position.

 2)  Make sure that spoilers No. 5 thru 8 extend to the 20-degree position.
 (c)  
Put the speed brake lever in the UP position. 1) Make sure that spoilers No. 1, 2, 11 and 12 extend to the 45-degree position.

 2)  Make sure that spoilers No. 5 thru 8 extend from the 20-degree position to the 45-degree position.

 (d)  
Put the speed brake lever in the DOWN position.
 1) Make sure all spoilers fully retract.

 (5)  Do this task: "Hydraulic System Depressurization" (Ref 29-11-00/201).

 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO REMOVE THE
_______ DOOR LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (6)  Do this task: "Wing Landing Gear Door Lock Removal" (Ref 32-00-30/201).
