(1) Prepare the solution:
(a)
Put one half of the demineralized water into the container.
(b)
Add the chromate conversion salts to the water. Use a quantity of 4 ounces (30 grams) of the salts for each gallon (liter) of water.
(c)
Add the wetting agent to the water. Use 2 ml of the wetting agent for a gallon of water (0.5 ml for 1 liter).
(d)
Mix the remaining demineralized water into the solution.

(e) Discard the solution after 14 days.
NOTE: The chromate conversion salts can be weighed
____ before they are used, and kept in dry containers. The water and wetting agent can be added when the solution is to be used.
E. Apply the Solution

(1) Apply the solution to the part:
(a)
Make a cloth moist with the perchlorethylene solvent.
(b)
Clean the area to be touched up with the moist cloth.
1) If some of the dirt stays on the part, use the crocus or the emery cloth to clean the part.
(c)
Use a cloth or a brush to apply a thin layer of anodize solution to the surface.
(d)
Keep the surface of the area wet with the solution during the full time necessary to apply the solution. 1) If the solution does not keep the surface wet, do these
steps.
a) Remove the solution with a clean cloth.
b) Clean the area again.
c) Apply the solution again.
(e)
Let the solution dry in the air.
(f)
Make sure the anodize solution is on all of the area. The solution will give a brown color to the area.
