Put the borescope through an opening in the engine and find the unwanted object.

Move the borescope until the unwanted object attaches to the magnet. 1) Remove the borescope with the unwanted object.

 (3)  Remove the unwanted object with a flexible cable and a magnet (or the tape) as follows:
 NOTE: Use this procedure when a borescope is not available.

 (a)  
Use the tape to attach the magnet to the end of the flexible cable (or put the tape on the end of the flexible cable).

 (b)  
Put the flexible cable through an opening in the engine.

 (c)  
Move the cable until the magnet or the tape touches the unwanted object. 1) Remove the flexible cable with the unwanted object.

 4. Antiseize and Antigalling Compounds
___________________________________
 A. General
 CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU APPLY ANTISEIZE AND ANTIGALLING COMPOUNDS.
_______ APPLY THE COMPOUND IN A THIN SMOOTH LAYER. REMOVE THE COMPOUND WHICH IS NOT NECESSARY. DO NOT GET THE COMPOUND ON PARTS, HOLES, OR SURFACES WHERE IT CAN CAUSE A FAILURE OF THE ENGINE.
 (1)  Use very high pressure lubricants to prevent a galling on high stressed surfaces during installation.
 (a)  Apply the lubricant to splined drives, case snaps, bearing journals, and other parts.

(2)  Apply antiseize compound to the threads of the fittings when you assemble parts in the hot section.
 NOTE: This will make it easier for you to remove the fittings.

You can use the penetrating oil to make it easier to disassemble the part.

 B.
Consumable Materials

 (1)  
G00964 Fel-Pro C-200 antigalling compound is approved for threaded parts and mating faces of threaded and other parts in the hot section. For the best results, apply the antigalling compound and bake it on the surface. Wet antigalling compound which is not baked on the surface is permitted, but does not last as long.

 (2)  
D00408 DGF-123 dry film lubricant in a volatile carrier can lubricate ball sockets and close fitting parts (bearing races, spacers, and seals on hubs and shafts).

 (3)  
Lubriplate No. 130A extreme pressure grease (P04-005) can lubricate all interference fit splines.

 (4)  
D00392 Plastilube No. 3 grease can lubricate accessory spline-drives with a loose fit (external to the engine without other means of lubrication).

 CAUTION: DO NOT USE THE ANTISEIZE COMPOUND (POWDERED MOLYKOTE TYPE Z) IN
_______ LOCATIONS WHERE TEMPERATURES ARE MORE THAN 800°F (427°C). THIS COMPOUND IS NOT STABLE AT THESE TEMPERATURES.
 DO NOT USE THE ANTISEIZE COMPOUND (POWDERED MOLYKOTE TYPE Z) ON ALUMINUM AND MAGNESIUM CASES. THIS COMPOUND CAUSES CORROSION.
 (5)  
D00009 Powdered Molykote Type Z antiseize compound

 (a)  
You can use this powder form or suspended in these fluids: 1) D00124 grade 1010 lubricating oil 2) B00491 denatured ethyl alcohol 3) B00200 methyl alcohol

 (b)  
You can use one of these to assemble combustion chamber cases, turbine nozzle cases, exhaust cases, turbine shaft splines and threads. Remove the unwanted antiseize compound from the area after assembly.

 (6)  
Parker Thread lubricant (P06-016) is approved for igniter boss threads and steel-threaded case assembly-plugs.
