Prepare to Install the Solenoid for the 2.9 Bleed Valve

 S 424-066-N00
 (1)  If it is necessary to install a new solenoid, do the steps that follow:
 (a)  
Put the 2.9 bleed valve on the bench where the two threaded ports point to you and the solenoids to the right of you.

 (b)  
Remove the protection caps from all openings on the solenoid.

 (c)  
Lubricate the threads of the two adapters, which are installed on the top of the solenoid, with engine oil.

 (d)  
Install the two adapters and gaskets to the two openings on the top of the solenoid. 1) Tighten the two adapters to 65-75 pound-inches (7.3-8.5

 newton-meters).

 (e)  
Lubricate the threads of the cap with engine oil.

 (f)  
Install the cap to the adapter which is the farthest distance from you. 1) Tighten the cap to 90-100 pound-inches (10.2-11.3

 newton-meters).

 (g)  
Lubricate the threads of the larger adapter with engine oil.

(h)  
Install the larger adapter and gasket in the center port on the aft end of the solenoid. 1) Tighten the larger adapter to 150-170 pound-inches

 (16.9-19.2 newton-meters).

 (i)  
Lubricate the threads of the smaller adapter with engine oil.

 (j)  
Install the smaller adapter and the gasket in the port on the aft end of the solenoid which is the farthest distance from you. 1) Tighten the smaller adapter to 110-120 pound-inches

 (12.4-13.6 newton-meters).

 (k)  
Lubricate the threads of the plug with engine oil.

 (l)  
Install the plug and gasket to the remaining port in the aft end of the solenoid. 1) Tighten the plug to 110-120 pound-inches (12.4-13.6

 newton-meters).
 F.  Procedure
 S 424-065-N00
 (1)  
Install the solenoid for the 2.9 bleed valve.

 (a)  
Lubricate the threads of the bolts, which attach the solenoid, with engine oil.

 (b)  
Attach the solenoid, with the electrical receptacles to the rear, to the bracket on the intermediate case with the bolts and support bracket.

 NOTE: The two bolt holes of the clamp bracket must align.
____ Loosen and tighten the bolts again if it is necessary.
 1)  Tighten the bolts to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7 newton-meters).
 (c)  
Remove the protection cap from the air supply manifold for the 15th-stage.

 (d)  
Lubricate the threads of the tube nut for the air supply manifold with the antigalling compound.

 (e)  
Connect the tube nut for the air supply manifold to the center adapter on the aft end of the solenoid. 1) Tighten the tube nut to 225-250 pound-inches (25.4-28.2

 newton-meters).

 (f)  
Lubricate the threads of the tube nuts on the two ends of the air supply tube for the 15th-stage with the antigalling compound.

Connect one end of the air supply tube to the center adapter on the stability bleed pneumatic relay valve. 1) Tighten the tube nut to 200-225 pound-inches (22.6-25.4
