Lubricate the threads of the adapter (11) with engine oil.

Install the adapter (11) with a new gasket (10) to the remaining port on the control valve (4). 1) Tighten the adapter (11) to 110-120 pound-inches (12.4-13.6
newton-meters).

ENGINES POST-PW-SB 75-62R2 OR PRE-PW-SB 75-91; Install the cap assembly (12) with the steps that follow: 1) Lubricate the threads of the cap assembly (12) with engine
oil. 2) Install the cap assembly (12) on the adapter (11). a) Hold the adapter and tighten the cap assembly (12) to 270-300 pound-inches (30.5-33.9 newton-meters). b) Safety the cap assembly (12) with lockwire or safety cable and safety cable ferrule.
G. Procedure

(1) Install the control valve:
(a)
Remove the protection cap from the port in the HPC case.
(b)
Attach a new gasket (3) to the HPC case pad with the paraffin wax.
(c)
Lubricate the threads of the bolts (5) with engine oil.
(d)
ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 79-52; For the left control valve (4), install the control valve (4) to the HPC case pad with the bolts (5).
(e)
ENGINES POST-PW-SB 79-52; For the left control valve (4), install the control valve (4) and the bracket (20) to the HPC case pad with the bolts (5).
(f)
For the right control valve (4), install the control valve (4) to the HPC case pad with the bolts (5).
(g)
Tighten the bolts (5), from one side to the other, to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7 newton-meters). 1) Without loosening, tighten the bolts (5) again until the
necessary torque is kept.
(h)
ENGINES POST-PW-SB 79-52; For the left control valve (4), do the steps that follow: 1) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (22) with engine oil.

2) Attach the clamp (23) of the trim-line oil tube (21) to the bracket (20) with the bolt (22) and the nut (24). a) Tighten the nut (24) to 36-40 pound-inches (4.1-4.5
newton-meters).
(i)
For the left control valve (4), attach the No. 3 bearing breather tube to the bracket (14) with the steps that follow: 1) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (16) with engine oil. 2) Attach the clamp of the No. 3 bearing breather tube to the
bracket (14) with the bolt (16) and the nut (15). a) Tighten the nut (15) to 36-40 pound-inches (4.1-4.5 newton-meters).
(j)
Remove the protection caps from the EEC electrical connector
(6) and the receptacle on the control valve (4).
CAUTION: USE THE CORRECT ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE AND TOOLS FOR THE
_______ HARNESS CONNECTOR INSTALLATION (AMM 70-24-05/201). IF YOU USE THE INCORRECT ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE, OR TOOLS, A DAMAGED OR LOOSE CONNECTOR CAN OCCUR. A LOOSE CONNECTOR PERMITS VIBRATION, WHICH CAUSES THE CONTACTS TO WEAR AND DECREASES THE LIGHTNING PROTECTION.
(k)
Connect the EEC electrical connector (6) to the receptacle on the control valve (4) (AMM 70-24-05/201). 1) Tighten the EEC electrical connector (6) to 21-26
pound-inches (2.4-2.9 newton-meters). 2) Safety the EEC electrical connector (6) with lockwire.
(l)
Connect the cooling air hose (7) to the control valve (4) with the hose clamp (8). 1) Tighten the hose clamp (8) to 15-18 pound-inches (1.7-2.0
newton-meters).
(m)
ENGINES POST-PW-SB 75-91; Connect the air signal tube to the adapter (11) with the steps that follow: 1) Lubricate the threads of the adapter (11) with antigalling
compound. 2) Connect the air signal tube to the adapter (11). 3) Hold the adapter (11) and tighten the nut of the air signal
tube to 200-225 pound-inches (22.6-25.4 newton-meters). 4) Safety the nut of the air signal tube with lockwire or safety cable and safety cable ferrule.
