Removal of the External Power Contactor (EPC)
Installation of the External Power Contactor (EPC)

R (1) Do the BITE test of the GAPCU (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-740-002).

R (a) If the BITE test gives the message TEST FAILED:
R - do the trouble shooting given in Para 4.A.
R (b) If the BITE test gives the message TEST PASSED:

R - do the trouble shooting given in Para 4.B. R 4. Fault Isolation

R A. If the BITE test gives the message TEST FAILED:
R - push the line key adjacent to the TEST FAILED message.

R (1) If the maintenance message GAPCU (24XG) comes into view:
R - replace the GAPCU (24XG) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-34-000-001) and (Ref.
R AMM TASK 24-41-34-400-001).

R  B. If the BITE test gives the message TEST PASSED: 
R  - do a check of the wiring (Ref. ASM 24-22/02) and (Ref. ASM 24-23/02) 
R  for an open circuit or a short to ground between: 
R  . pin 2 of the ELEC/GEN1/OFF/BTC1 SPLY circuit breaker (5XU) and pin 38 
R  of the diode module 1162VD 
R  . pin 37 of the diode module 1162VD and pin A/2 of the APU AVAIL relay 
R  (6KD) 
R  . pin A/1 of the APU AVAIL relay and pin 28 of the EPC (3XG) 
R  . pin 26 of the EPC and pin 20 of the APU GLC (3XS) 
R  . pin 18 of the APU GLC and pin A/6A of the GAPCU. 
R  (1) If the wiring is not correct: 
R  - repair or replace as necessary. 
R  (2) If the wiring is correct: 
R  - do a check of the auxiliary contacts for correct operation (Ref. 
R  ASM 24-23/02) between: 
R  . pins A/1 and A/2 of the APU AVAIL relay (6KD) (normally open) 
R  . pins 26 and 28 of the EPC (3XG) (normally closed) 
R  . pins 18 and 20 of the APU GLC (3XS) (normally closed). 
R  (a) If the auxiliary contacts are not correct: 
R  - replace the RELAY-APU AVAIL (6KD) or the contactors as 
R  necessary: 
R  . for the EPC (3XG) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-55-000-001) and (Ref. 
R  AMM TASK 24-41-55-400-001) 
R  . for the GLC-APU (3XS) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-23-55-000-001) and 
R  (Ref. AMM TASK 24-23-55-400-001). 
R  (b) If the auxiliary contacts are correct: 
R  - replace the GAPCU (24XG) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-34-000-001) and 
R  (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-34-400-001). 
R  C. Do the test given in para. 3.
