R A. Test Removal of the APU Generator 8XS Installation of the APU Generator 8XS Operational Check of GAPCU via CFDS Removal of the Ground Auxiliary Power Control Unit (GAPCU) (24XG) Installation of the Ground Auxiliary Power Control Unit (GAPCU) (24XG)
R (1) Do the trouble shooting for all CFDS messages related to the Chapter
R 49 or to the ECB that can come into view with the CFDS message GEN
R APU (8XS)/ GAPCU (24XG)/ APU CTL RLY (6KD)
R (2) If no Chapter 49 or ECB-related CFDS messages come into view, or if
R the fault continues after the troubleshooting:
R - do a BITE test of the GAPCU (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-740-002).
R (a) If the BITE test gives the message TEST FAILED:
R - do the trouble shooting given in Para 4.A.
R (b) If the BITE test gives the message TEST PASSED:
R - do the trouble shooting given in Para 4.B.
R 4. Fault Isolation_______________
R A. If the BITE test gives the message TEST FAILED:
R - push the line key adjacent to the TEST FAILED message.
R (1) If the maintenance message GAPCU (24XG) comes into view:
R - replace the GAPCU (24XG) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-34-000-001) and (Ref.
R AMM TASK 24-41-34-400-001).
R B. If the BITE test gives the message TEST PASSED:
R - replace the GEN-APU (8XS) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-23-51-000-001) and (Ref.
R AMM TASK 24-23-51-400-001).
R (1) If the fault continues:
R - do a check of the wiring and the contact of the APU ready circuit
R (Ref. ASM 49-61/01) and (Ref. ASM 24-23/02) for a short to 28VDC
R between:
R . pin B/6J of the ECB (59KD) and pin A/X1 of the APU AVAIL relay
R (6KD)
R . pin A/7C of the GAPCU and pin A/A1 of the APU AVAIL relay
R . pins A/A1 and A/A2 of the APU AVAIL relay (normally open).
R (a) If the wiring or contact are not correct:
R - repair or replace the wiring as necessary
R - replace the RELAY-APU AVAIL (6KD) as necessary.
R (b) If the wiring or contact are correct:
R - replace the GAPCU (24XG) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-34-000-001) and
R (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-34-400-001).
R C. Do the test given in para. 3.
