Remove the three bolts which attach the housing of the pressure relief valve to the housing of the main oil filter.
(b)
Remove the housing of the pressure relief valve from the housing of the main oil filter.
(c)
Remove the packings from the housing of the pressure relief valve.

E. Procedure

(1) If it is necessary, install the housing of the pressure relief valve with the steps that follow:
(a)
Remove the protection covers.
(b)
Lubricate the packings for the housing with enigne oil.
(c)
Install the packings in the housing.
(d)
Install the housing into the port on the housing of the main oil filter.
(e)
Lubricate the threads of the bolts, which attach the housing, with the antigalling compound.
(f)
Attach the housing with the bolts.
1) Tighten the bolts to 125-140 pound-inches (14.123-15.818 newton-meters).

Lubricate the new packing for the pressure relief valve with engine oil.

Install the packing in the groove of the pressure relief valve.

Lubricate the packing for the plug with engine oil.

Install the packing to the plug.

Install the spring to the plug.

Lubricate the threads of the plug with engine oil.

Install the spring and the plug into the housing.
