B. Procedure
CAUTION : IF FILLING PROCEDURE IS NOT PRECEDED BY A COMPLETE DRAINING PROCEDURE - REFER TO 12-13-04, INSTALL DRIP PANS UNDER SYSTEM DISCONNECTION POINTS AS SUBSTANTIAL FLOWS WILL APPEAR.
1) Remove the rear bench seatpan - refer to 25-12-00, and inspection door 238 (44) - refer to 06-30-00.
2) Jack up the aircraft - refer to 07-10-00.
3) Remove the cowlings under hull 218A and 218F and engine cowling 121 - refer to 71-10-01.
4) For the aircraft equipped with a ground power receptacle, connect the ground power unit - refer to 24-40-00.
5) Drain the landing gear hydraulic system - refer to 12-13-04.
6) Make sure the main switch-breaker and the "LDG GEAR" "pull-off' type circuit-breaker are open.
7) Manually lock the landing gears in "extended" position.
8) Disconnect LP line (1) and HP line (6), blank off LP outlet union (3) of the electrohydraulic generator with a cap AN820-4D and connect a vinyl hose to HP outlet union (2).
9) Fill the electrohydraulic generator - refer to Paragraph 1.
10) Close main switch-breaker.
11) Set the landing gear control lever to "UP" position.
12) Close the "LDG GEAR" "pull-off type circuit-breaker and make the electrohydraulic generator operate until the hydraulic fluid flows (without air bubbles). Open the "LDG GEAR" "pull-off" type circuit-breaker.
13) Remove the vinyl hose and connect HP line (6) - refer to 20-00-02.
14) Disconnect main landing gear retraction HP hoses (31) and (34) at unions (32) and (33).
15) Connect vinyl hoses to unions (32) and (33).
CAUTION : TOP UP THE HYDRAULIC FLUID LEVEL IN THE ELECTROHYDRAULIC GENERATOR RESERVOIR.
16) Close the "LDG GEAR" "pull-off type circuit-breaker and make the electrohydraulic generator operate until the hydraulic fluid flows (without air bubbles). Open the "LDG GEAR" "pull-off' type circuit-breaker.
17) Remove the vinyl hoses and connect main landing gear HP hoses (31) and (34) to unions (32) and (33) -refer to 20-00-02.
18) Disconnect nose landing gear extension LP hose (23) from union (22) located on the firewall.
19) Connect a vinyl hose to union (22).
20) Pull landing gear emergency control (21).
CAUTION : TOP UP THE HYDRAULIC FLUID LEVEL IN THE ELECTROHYDRAULIC GENERATOR RESERVOIR.
21) Close the "LDG GEAR" "pull-off" type circuit-breaker and make the electrohydraulic generator operate until the hydraulic fluid flows.
22) As soon as the hydraulic fluid flows (without air bubbles), push back landing gear emergency control (21) and simultaneously open the "LDG GEAR" "pull-off' type circuit-breaker.
