S Move the cover plate down and clear of the
control assembly.
(4) Loosen the throttle friction adjuster until the knob
releases from the threaded shaft.
(5) Lift the engine control assembly clear of the
center console and support it.
Hold the friction adjuster knob clear.
Make sure that you do not pull on the
control cables.

(6) Disconnect the following control cables from the
engine control assembly:
S Throttle control cable.
S Propeller control cable.
S Mixture control cable.
S Cabin heat control cable.
S Cabin heat distribution control cable.
S Parking brake control cable.

(7) Move the engine control assembly clear of the
airplane.
B. Install the Engine Control Assembly

(1) Make sure that there are no loose items,
specially in the center console.
(2) Move the engine control assembly onto the
center console and support it in a position where
you can install the control cables.
(3) Connect these control cables to the engine
control assembly:
S Propeller control cable.
S Throttle control cable.
S Mixture control cable.
S Parking brake control cable.
S Cabin heat distribution control cable.
S Cabin heat control cable.

(4) Pull the throttle friction control knob clear and
lower the engine control assembly into the center
console.
(5) Align the throttle friction control knob to screw
onto the friction shaft in the engine control
assembly.
Do not tighten.
(6) Install the engine control assembly front cover
plate:
S Move the cover plate into position on the
engine control assembly.
S Install the 2 hex-headed bolts which attach
the cover plate and engine control assembly.
Do not tighten.
(7) Install the engine control assembly rear cover
plate:
S Move the cover plate into position on the
engine control assembly.
S Install the 4 cross-head screws which attach
the rear cover plate to the control assembly.
S Tighten the screws.
(8) Tighten the 2 hex-headed bolts in the front cover
plate.
(9) Adjust the throttle friction adjuster to the required
friction.
(10) Do a test for correct range, full and free
movement of the throttle control system.

Movement Test in Section 76-00.
(11) Do a test for correct range, full and free
movement of the mixture control system.
Refer to the Throttle Control Range of
Movement Test in Section 76-00.
(12) Do a test for correct range, full and free
movement of the propeller control system.
Refer to the Throttle Control Range of
Movement Test in Section 61-00.
(13) Do an inspection of the control connections which
you disconnected. If necessary, for your
airworthiness authority, do a second inspection of
the controls.

(14) Do a test for correct range, full and free
movement of the cabin heat control system.
Refer to Section 21-00.
(15) Do a test for correct range, full and free
movement of the cabin heat distribution system.

(16) Install the knob on the fuel selector valve:
S Install the mounting plate.
S Push the knob onto the fuel valve selector
shaft.
S Install the cross-head screw which attaches
the knob to the shaft.
