(9) Tighten the nut on the inner bolt and install a
cotter pin.
To give a height of the spring washers of

0.16 in. (+0.02 in / -0 in).

(10) Connect the bonding cable to the strut. Install the nut and bolt near the inner
mounting block.
(11) Install the axle, brake torque-plate and the
mounting plate for the wheel fairing. Install the 6
bolts which attach the axle.
Refer to Figure 2. Torque: 6.4 Nm (4.7
ft.lb).
(12) Install the brake caliper. Refer to Section 32-40.
(13) Install the wheel. Refer to Section 32-40.
(14) Install the back-plate to the brake caliper. Refer to Section 32-40.
(15) Install the wheel fairing:
S Install the outer bolt.
S Install 4 screws on the inner side.
(16) Install the strut fairing:
S Install strut fairing.
S Install stub wing cover.
S Install brake cover.
Optional, see OÄM 40-106.
Take care of padding on strut.
Take care of padding on strut cover.
(17) Lower the airplane with jacks. Refer to Section 07-10.
(18) Do a test for correct adjustment of the landing
gear.
See Paragraph 3.
(19) Do a function test of the wheel brake system.

3. Test/Adjust the Main Landing Gear
Do this work at the following times:
) When required by the maintenance checklist (Chapter 05).
) After a hard landing.
) After any repair to the main landing gear strut.

B. Procedure

(1) Make sure that the airplane is at the empty
weight.
See the Adjustment Report for the
airplane.
(2) Remove the strut fairings, if installed:
S Remove brake cover.
S Remove stub wing cover.
S Remove strut fairing.
Optional, see OÄM 40-106.
Remove bolts and washers.
Remove bolts and washers.
Remove bolts and washers at the rear.
(3) Remove the wheel fairings:
S Remove the outer bolt.
S Remove 4 screws from the inner side.
For each wheel.
(4) Move the airplane to put the main wheels on the
slide sheets.
(5) Measure the toe-in. Refer to Figure 3.
(6) Measure the camber. Refer to Figure 3.
WARNING: USE ONLY THE SHIMS LISTED FOR THE PURPOSE IN THE
ILLUSTRATED PARTS CATALOGUE. OTHER SHIMS COULD CAUSE
LANDING GEAR FAILURE.
(7) If necessary, adjust the toe-in and/or camber. Refer to Chapter 06-00 for limits.
Maximum 2° shim per side (camber +
toe). See the Illustrated Parts
Catalogue for the correct shims.
Put shims between the strut and the
axle.
These change the angle between the
axle and the airplane longitudinal or
vertical axis.
(8) Measure the wheel track. Across the airplane from the outermost
point on one axle to the outermost point
on the other axle.
(9) Move the airplane off the slide sheets.
