default receiving frequencies as follows:
1 Set the ADJUST-NORMAL switch to ADJUST.
2 Push the RESET switch for three seconds.
3 Set the ADJUST-NORMAL switch to NORMAL.
4 Do a scan of channels 1 thru 12 again to make sure that the
default receiving frequencies are set.
(6) Personal Computer
Make sure that the PC's screen shows Windows desktop and there is a
"VMU Tester" icon.
(7) Go to Functional Testing (4.).

4. Functional Testing
A. Start of Tester Program
(1) Click on the "VMU Tester" icon on the Windows desktop. You will see
the "LOG-IN" dialog box as shown in Figure 113.

(2) Put in the data as follows:
ITEM OPERATION
Inspector Type your name or initials, then push the Tab key.
UNIT P/N Push the Tab key. Then, push the ¯ or ­ key a number
of times until you get the UUT's part number* 1 in this
box.
UNIT S/N Push the Tab key, then type the serial number of the
UUT.
MOD Type the numbers of the modifications done on the UUT,
such as "1, 2, 3".
*1- For part numbers RD-AA5002-12, RD-AA5002-22 and RD-AA5002-23,
you must also make a selection of "with MODx" or "without MODx".
If the UUT contains the specified MODx, select "with MODx".
MODx is a change of the RF output level.

(3) Make sure that the data you put in is correct, then click on the
"NEXT" button. You will see the "MODE SELECTION" box as shown in
Figure 114.
NOTE: The "NEXT" button is disabled until you put in the Inspector
and UNIT S/N data.

(4) Do as follows:
(a) Click on the "ADJUSTMENT MODE" button. You will see the "POWER
ON" box as shown in Figure 115.

(b) Make sure that the RS232-RS485 selector switch is set to RS232.
If not, set this selector switch to RS232.
(c) Click on the "OK" button of the "POWER ON" box. The "ADJUSTMENT
MODE" window as shown in Figure 116 will come into view after
you click on the "OK" button.

If you see "ADJUSTMENT MODE" window, go to step (e).
If you see the "COMMUNICATION ERROR" box as shown in Figure
116A, go to step (d).

(d) Communication Error
The communication error occurs if:
· The UUT is off.
· The data line between the UUT and the PC is broken.
If you can remove the cause of the communication error, first
remove it, then click on the "CONTINUE" button. You will then
click on the "NEXT" button and go to step (e).
If you cannot remove the cause of the communication error, you
cannot continue the testing. Do as follows:
1 Click on the "END" button of the "COMMUNICATION ERROR" box.
You will see the "POWER OFF" box as shown in Figure 116B.

2 Make sure that the RS232-RS485 selector switch is set to
RS232, set the tester's POWER switch to OFF, then click on
the "OK" button. You will see the "CONTINUE-END SELECTION"
box as shown in Figure 116C.

3 Click on the "END" button to stop the tester program, then go
to Fault Isolation (5.).
(e) Make sure that the modulator status is "PASS" for all channels.
Also make sure on the spectrum analyzer that there are 12 RF
carriers.
If the modulator status is "FAIL" for one or more channels or if
there is no RF carrier for one channel, do as follows:
