 A. Inspection of oxygen pressure for the flight crew
 (1)
 Measure the outside temperature (OAT) and the cockpit temperature with a temp indicating.

 (2)
 Calculate the reference temperature:
 OAT + COCKPIT TEMP

 On the referenced illustration, find the minimum oxygen pressure for the flight crew, function of the number of crew members.

 (4)
 Make sure that the pressure shown on the pressure gage of the cylinder is more than the minimum oxygen pressure found.

 OXYGEN STORAGE - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

 General

_______ The flight crew oxygen is supplied from a high-pressure oxygen cylinder with a pressure regulator/transmitter directly connected to the cylinder head. It is installed in a cradle with two quick-release clamps between frames 11 and 13 in the avionics compartment. The installation can survive crash loads of 10G's in all directions.

 (1) The high pressure oxygen cylinder is made of composite material. The cylinder has a capacity of 2183l (77 cubic feet) (NTPD: Normal Temperature Pressure Dry) at a pressure of 127.5 bar (1850 psig).

 (1) The high pressure oxygen cylinder is made of composite material. The cylinder has a capacity of 1418l (50.1 cubic feet) (NTPD: Normal Temperature Pressure Dry) at a pressure of 127.5 bar (1850 psig).

 (2) The cylinder head is a valve assembly which is made of these components:
 (a)
 A manual slow-opening ON/OFF valve with a metal seat and poppet, to reduce the explosion hazard. The valve is used during the replacement of the cylinder and to isolate the cylinder if there is a leak in the oxygen system.
