A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a warning notice is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a warning notice is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(3) Make sure that the access platform is in position.

4. Procedure

Subtask 78-31-49-420-080
A. Installation of the Rod Supply Pipe of the Left Actuator
(1) Remove the protective covers from the pipe ends.
(2) Put the rod supply pipe in position on the forward frame. (Ref. Fig. 408/TASK 78-31-49-991-309)
(3) Attach the rod supply pipe to the interface bracket with the nut.
(4) TORQUE the nut to between 370 and 410 lbf.in (4.18 and 4.63 m.daN).
(5) Connect the rod supply pipe to the middle hydraulic line bracket.
(6) TORQUE the coupling nut to between 235 and 260 lbf.in (2.65 and 2.93 m.daN).
(7) Connect the interface hydraulic hose to the rod supply hose.
(8) TORQUE the coupling nut to between 270 and 300 lbf.in (3.05 and 3.39 m.daN).
(9) Attach the flange and the upper half clamp to the upper hydraulic line bracket with the bolts and the nuts.
(10) Position the two half clamps on the electrical harness and the rod supply pipe. Install the bolt, the washer, the clamp and the nut.
(11) TORQUE the nut to between 27 and 30 lbf.in (0.30 and 0.33 m.daN). NOTE : Apply a witness line of finish paint EA4 blue 5991 (Material
____ No. CP2245) on all nuts and connections after they are torqued.

B. Make sure that the clearance between the rod supply pipe and the
hold-open rod is 0.189 in. (4.8 mm).

(1) If the clearance is correct, do paragraph close up.

(2) If the clearance is not correct, loosen the interface hydraulic hose and the two nuts of the rod supply pipe.
(3) Position the rod supply pipe to get clearance with the hold-open rod.
(4) TORQUE the nuts to the values given above.

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors: (Ref. TASK 71-13-00-410-040)
