(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a warning notice is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(3) Make sure that the access platform is in position.

Subtask 78-31-49-420-082
A. Installation of the Rod Support Pipe of the Right Actuator
(1) Remove the protective covers from the pipe ends.
(2) Put the rod supply pipe in position on the forward frame. (Ref. Fig. 411/TASK 78-31-49-991-312)
(3) Connect the rod supply pipe to the middle hydraulic line bracket and the hydraulic control unit.
(4) TORQUE the coupling nuts to between 370 and 410 lbf.in (4.18 and 4.63 m.daN).
(5) Attach the rod supply pipe to the interface bracket with the nut.
(6) TORQUE the nut to between 140 and 160 lbf.in (1.58 and 1.80 m.daN).
(7) Connect the interface hydraulic hose to the rod supply hose.
(8) TORQUE the coupling nut to between 270 and 300 lbf.in (3.05 and 3.39 m.daN).
(9) Attach the flange and the upper half clamp to the upper hydraulic line bracket with the bolts and the nuts.
(10) TORQUE the nuts to between 27 and 30 lbf.in (0.30 and 0.33 m.daN).

(11) Position the two half clamps on the electrical harness and the rod supply pipe. Install the bolt, the washer, the clamp and the nut.
(12) TORQUE the nut to between 27 and 30 lbf.in (0.30 and 0.33 m.daN). NOTE : Apply a witness line of finish paint EA4 blue 5991 (Material
____ No. CP2245) on all nuts and connections after they are torqued.
Subtask 78-31-49-220-052
B. Make sure that the clearance between the rod supply pipe and the
hold-open rod is 0.189 in. (4.8 mm).
(Ref. Fig. 409/TASK 78-31-49-991-310)
(1) If the clearance is correct, do paragraph Close-up.
(2) If the clearance is not correct, loosen the interface hydraulic hose and the nuts of the rod supply pipe.
(3) Position the rod supply pipe to get clearance with the hold-open rod.
(4) TORQUE the nuts to the values given above.
