3. Fault Confirmation

A. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) closed:

B. Test
R (1) Open the circuit breaker 5CC1.
R (2) After a minimum of 10 seconds, close the circuit breaker 5CC1.
(3) After 2 minutes, do the operational test of the AFS (Ref. AMM TASK 22-96-00-710-001) and read the result for the FAC 1.
4. Fault Isolation
_______________
A. If the test gives the maintenance message AFS : FAC1/RT ACTR 10CC:
- do a check of the correct wiring for 28VDC signal (pin A2) and GND
signal (pin X2) at the relay (7CC1) (Ref. ASM 22-68/03) - open the circuit breaker 5CC1
- remove the FAC-1 (1CC1) (Ref. AMM TASK 22-66-34-000-002).
(1) Do a check of the impedance of the RUD TR ACT VALID signal between the pin AB/11C and the pin AC/3 (GND signal) of the FAC-1 rack connector.
NOTE : The impedance must be more than 70 Ohms.
____
(a) If the impedance is not correct:
- do a check of the continuity of the wiring of the RUD TR ACT VALID signal from the FAC1 to the RT actuator and associated GND at the RT actuator (Ref. ASM 22-68/03):
1 If there is continuity:
_
- replace the electronic module of the rudder trim actuator (10CC) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-22-51-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 27-22-51-400-002).
a If the fault continues:
_
- replace the ACTUATOR-RUDDER TRIM (10CC) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-22-51-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 27-22-51-400-001).
- install the above removed FAC-1 (Ref. AMM TASK 22-66-34-400-002).
2 If there is no continuity:
_
- repair the wiring
- install the above removed FAC-1 (Ref. AMM TASK 22-66-34-400-002).
(b) If the impedance is correct:
- do a check of the impedance of the RUD TR ACT PWR ON signal between the pin AE/11C and the pin AC/3 of the FAC-1 rack connector.
NOTE : The impedance must be more than 70 Ohms.

- replace the RELAY-RUD TRIM 1 (7CC1)
- install the above removed FAC-1 (Ref. AMM TASK 22-66-34-
400-002).
R b_ If there is no continuity:R
- repair the wiring
- install the above removed FAC-1 (Ref. AMM TASK 22-66-34-400-002)
2 If the impedance is correct:
_
- do a check of the correct continuity of the wiring of the 28VDC signal from the relay 7CC1 to the RT actuator (10CC) and associted GND at RT actuator (Ref. ASM 22-68/03).
R a_ If there is continuity:R
- replace the relay 7CC1.
R b_ If the fault continues:R
- replace the FAC-1 (1CC1) (Ref. AMM TASK 22-66-34-400-002).
R (2) If the fault continues: R
- do a check and repair the remaining wiring from the FAC 1 (1CC1) to the rudder trim actuator (10CC) (Ref. ASM 22-68/03).
B. If the test does not give the maintenance message AFS: FAC1/RT ACTR 10CC:
- do the operational test of the rudder trim function (Ref. AMM TASK 22-62-00-710-001).
C. If the rudder does not move or stops before the rudder travel limit:
- replace the FAC-1 (1CC1) (Ref. AMM TASK 22-66-34-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 22-66-34-400-002).
R (1) If the fault continues:
R
R - replace the electronic module of the rudder trim actuator (10CC)
