 D. Procedure
 S 164-007
 (1)  
Clean and prepare the surface of the airplane around the installation hole.

 S 424-008

 (2)  
Install the static pressure port (see Figure 401):

 NOTE:  If the static port is not aligned with the surface, the port
____ must be microshaved (SRM 51-10-01).
 (a)  Install the static pressure port into the installation hole.
 NOTE:  The 737-300 static pressure port and the 737-400/500
____ static pressure port are not interchangeable.

 (b)  
Adjust the static pressure port until the port makes a continuous surface with the airplane skin.

 (c)  
Hold the static pressure port in its position.

 NOTE:  The maximum gap difference between the port and the airplane skin is 0.030 inch.

 (d)  
Install the static pressure port nut and washer.

 (e)  
Tighten the nut to a torque value from 250 to 400 inch-pounds.

 (3) Install the lockwire on the nut of the static pressure port.

 S 824-025
 (4)  Shape the surface of the static pressure port until it is aligned
 +0.003/-0.000 inches with the airplane skin.

 (5)  Make sure that there are no scratches, burrs, or deformations on the
 static port finish and around the sensing holes in the static port.

 (6)  Make sure that there is no unwanted material in the holes of the
 static port.
 S 204-013
 (7)  Make sure the inlet holes on the static pressure port are free of
 blockage or damage.
 S 824-014
 (8)  Make sure the surface 3 inches forward and aft of the port and the
 port align by 0.010 inches.
 NOTE:____ To measure this distance, put a six inch straight edge
 horizontally against the center of the port.

 (9)  
Make sure all of the rivets in a 3 inch radius of the port align with the surface by 0.003 inches maximum.

 (10)
 Apply alodine on the external surface of the static pressure port.
