 CAUTION: HOLD THE TOTAL WEIGHT OF THE GENERATOR WITH THE HOIST
_______ UNTIL YOU TIGHTEN THE QAD RING. DAMAGE TO THE GENERATOR CAN OCCUR IF THE GENERATOR HANGS BY ITS DRIVE SHAFT.
 (g)  
Lift the generator (2 or 11) into its approximate position with the fishpole hoist.

 CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE YOU MOVE THE GENERATOR IN A STRAIGHT LINE. IF THE GENERATOR DOES NOT MOVE FREELY, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INPUT SEAL OF THE GENERATOR.

 (h)  
Carefully engage the splines of the generator drive shaft (2 or 11) with the gearbox.

 (i)  
Turn the generator to align the hole in the mounting flange with the dowel pin on the QAD adapter plate.

 (j)  
Push the generator to the QAD adapter plate until it does not move. 1) Loosen the tension bolt more, if it is necessary.

 (k)  
Attach the generator (2 or 11) to the QAD adapter plate with the QAD ring. 1) Let the QAD ring fall into its position around the

 generator mounting flange and the QAD adapter plate.
 NOTE: The QAD ring will fall approximately 0.0625 inch
____ when you install the generator correctly.
 a) If it is necessary, push the generator up and to the gearbox. b) If it is necessary, lightly push down the QAD ring with your finger.
 CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE GENERATOR CORRECTLY. IF YOU TIGHTEN THE QAD RING WHEN THE GENERATOR IS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY, YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE MOUNTING FLANGE.
 2) Lightly tighten the tension bolt on the QAD ring. 3) Make sure the clearance between the QAD ring and the
 brackets is approximately 0.125 inch. 4) Loosen the tension bolt. 5) Hit the QAD ring lightly with a soft mallet. 6) Tighten the tension bolt to 120-130 pound-inches. 7) Hit the QAD ring lightly with a soft mallet. 8) Measure the bolt torque. 9) If the torque is less than 120 pound-inches, tighten the
 bolt to 120-130 pound-inches. 10) Do steps 7) through 9) until the measured torque does not decrease. 11) Tighten the bolt to 120-130 pound-inches.

 12) Use a feeler gage to make sure the clamp opening for the QAD ring is 0.130-0.330 inch.
 NOTE:____ If the mounting flange for the generator shows worn areas, a opening tolerance of 0.062-0.330 inch is permitted.
 13) Install lockwire on the tension bolt on the QAD ring.

 (4)  Remove the sling, the fishpole hoist, and the spreader bar from the APU compartment.

 (5)  Connect the cooling-fan exit manifold (8). (a) Put the cooling-fan exit manifold (8) in its position on the air inlet duct (6). (b) Install the clamp (7). (c) Tighten the clamp (7).

 (6)  Do these steps to install the air exhaust duct (3) on APU generator, G3 (2). (a) Put the air exhaust duct (3) in its position on the generator (2). (b) Attach the clamp with a spacer (26) and a nut (27). (c) Tighten the nut to 30-35 pound-inches. (d) Install the screws (23), washers (22) and nuts (21) that hold the exhaust duct extension (20) to the exhaust duct (3).

 (7)  Do these steps to install the air exhaust duct (3) on APU generator, G2 (11). (a) Put the air exhaust duct (3) in its position on the generator (11). (b) Attach the clamp with a spacer (26) and a nut (27). (c) Tighten the nut to 30-35 pound inches. (d) Install the exhaust duct extension (20) on the air exhaust duct (3). (e) Tighten the clamp (15) that holds the exhaust duct extension (20) to the air exhaust duct (3). (f) Install the screws (23), washers (22) and nuts (21) on the clamp (24). (g) Install the screws (18) that hold the wire bundle clamps to the exhaust duct extension (20).

 (8)  Connect the phase leads (12 or 13) to the generator terminal studs. (a) Remove the terminal block cover (16) from the generator (2 or 11).
