Move the door to see that it hits the four door stops at the same time.

 (d)  
Install the lockwire.

 (e)  
Tighten the bolts that hold the hinge arms to the door.

 1)  Make sure that the door does not move from the door stops when you tighten these bolts.

 2)  Change the serrations below the hinge arm if the door moves from the door stops.
 (f)  Tighten the bolts that hold the latch keeper to the structure. 1) Make sure the door does not move from the door stops when you tighten these bolts.
 2)  Change the serrations below the latch keeper if the door moves from the door stops.

Adjust the door hinge arms.

 (a)  
Make sure the door is in the center of the opening.

 (b)  
Change the number of washers on the hinge bolts if it is necessary.

 NOTE: This will move the door forward or aft in

Tighten the nuts on the hinge bolts to 5 pound-inches.

 (d)  
Install cotter pins on the nuts.

Do a check of the operation of the latch pin.

Move the handle to operate the latch mechanism.

 (b)  
Make sure the latch pin moves freely and easily into the latch keeper.

 (c)  
Change the serrations below the latch keeper or the hinge arms if it is necessary.

If you install a new door, do a check of the clearance around the door.

 (a)  
Measure 0.03 to 0.09 inch between the edges of the door and the fuselage.

Remove material from the edge of the door if it is necessary to get this clearance.

When you remove material, paint the areas with Alodine (Ref 51-21-04/701).

Install the bonding jumper.

Clean the areas of the door that touch the bonding jumper.

Connect the bonding jumpers to the door.
