Install parts you remove from the replaced aft door: 1) Install the bracket on the door. 2) Install the angle on the door.

Install the screws that hold the hinges to the structure.

Adjust the parts on the door.

 (a)  
Close and latch the door.

 (b)  
On the forward door, adjust the magnet. 1) Make sure the dimension from the magnet to the switch is from 0.05 to 0.30 inch.

 2)  Change the washers and the spacers below the switch to get the correct dimension.

 (c)  
On the forward door, adjust the safety bracket for the handle of the fill valve. 1) Make sure the center of the safety bracket aligns with the

 fill handle. 2) Move the bracket if it is necessary to align it.

 (d)  Adjust the angle.
 NOTE:____ There is an angle on the forward and the aft door.
 1) 2)  Measure a clearance of 0.19 to 0.31 inch between the angle and the handle of the drain valve.Move the angle on its bracket if it is necessary to get the correct dimension.
 (3)  S 824-010Adjust the latches. (a) Close and latch the door. (b) Adjust each of the latches. 1) Push the door at the edge of the latch until it is against the structure. 2) Push the latch bolt up from 0.01 to 0.03 inch. 3) If it is necessary to get the correct dimension, change the shims below the latch.
 (4)  S 214-011Do a check of the clearances around the door (Fig. 402). (a) Measure the dimensions shown in Fig. 402 (b) Remove material from the door if it is necessary to get the correct dimensions. (c) If you remove material, paint the area with Alodine (Ref 51-24-04/701).
 (5)  S 434-012Connect the bonding jumper to the door.
 (6)  S 764-013Do a check of the electrical resistance between the surfaces of the door and the fuselage (Ref 20-22-01/601). (a) Measure the electrical resistance between the flame-sprayed surface of the door and the fuselage.

 (b)  
Make sure the resistance is less than 0.01 ohm.

 (c)  
If the electrical resistance is not correct, clean the surfaces. 1) Remove the screws that hold the hinges to the structure. 2) Clean the surfaces of the hinges that touch the structure. 3) Install the screws that hold the hinges to the structure.

 (d)  
Do a check of the electrical resistance again.

 S 724-014
 (7)  Open and close the door to make sure it operates correctly.
