See that the abrasion-resistant finish is satisfactory.
(b)
Apply an abrasion-resistant finish that is 0.010 inch thick if it is necessary (Ref 51-24-04/701).

Do a check of the latch adjustment.
(a)
Close but do not latch the door.
(b)
Push at the latch until the door aligns with the fuselage between -0.02 and +0.02 inch.
(c)
Lock the latch.
(d)
Make sure you can push the latch bolt up from 0.01 to 0.03 inch. 1) Change the shim below the face of the latch if it is
necessary to get this dimension.

(e) Make sure the latch has a minimum overlap of 0.31 inch.
(5) S 224-014Examine the clearances around the door. (a) Make sure there is from 0.00 and 0.06 inch between the edges of the door and the fuselage. (b) Remove material from the door if it is necessary to get the correct dimension. (c) If you remove material, paint the area with Alodine (Ref 51-21-04/701).
(6) S 224-015See that the door aligns with the fuselage in less than 0.02 inch.
(7) S 724-016Open and close the door to make sure it operates correctly.

The underwing fuel drain door must be opened to perform the

(1)
Open the door to the fuel drain below the wing.
S 226-003
(2)
Do a check of the wear limits for the latch plate on the door.
(a)
Measure the parts as necessary and compare the measured dimensions to the limit dimensions.
(b)
If the part does not have the correct tolerance, replace it or repair it as necessary.
(3)
Close the door to the fuel drain under the wing.
