Prepare for the Installation of the Nose Landing Gear

 WARNING: DO NOT INSTALL THE SHOCK STRUT LOCK ON A PRESSURIZED SHOCK
_______ STRUT. AIR PRESSURE CAN BLOW THE LOCK OFF AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (1)  
Make sure the shock strut lock is installed on the replacement gear.

 (2)  
Put the nose landing gear into position in the wheel well.

 (3)  
Install the removal/installation tool for the nose landing gear on the shock strut.

 (a)  
Attach the Lower Drag Strut Support Assembly to the shock strut through the retraction actuator link. Move the lower drag strut up toward the shock strut, lock the drag strut into the Lower Drag Strut Support Assembly.

 (b)  
Install the Support Assembly to the lower end of the upper drag strut. Raise the upper drag stut toward the rear of the wheelwell until the Support Assembly aligns with the wall fittings for the Lock Link Assembly. Connect the Support Assembly to the wall fittings.

 (c)  
Connect the rear of the Track Assembly to the Support Assembly. Connect the front of the Track Assembly to crossbar of the Upper Drag Strut.

 (d)  
Connect the Lift Lug Assembly to the upper end of the Lower Drag Strut.

Move the nose landing gear 90 degrees to clear the side walls of the wheel well.

Lift the nose landing gear and move it into position for
 installation.

 (6)  S 414-031Apply grease to the trunnion pins (26). Install the trunnion pins to connect the shock strut trunnion to the side walls of the wheel well (Views B-B and C-C).
 (7)  S 014-063Do the steps that follow to install the trunnion pins: (a) Get access to the trunnion pins through the main equipment center, panel 119BL (AMM 06-41-00/201). (b) Apply grease to the tang washer (31), the nut for the trunnion pin (30), the lockbolts (27), the washers (28), and the nuts (29). (c) Install these parts and adjust the clearances for the trunnion (AMM 32-21-12/401).
